Hi Kids,

I'm a soon-to-be-neighbor of all of you. I have a house in Willow that's supposed to be done in September. It's my first house, pretty excited about that.

Was wondering if anyone on here owns the Shenandoah model, and if they could tell me what their approximate utilities are per month so I have an idear??

I love how friendly everyone seems... excited to be moving to that kind of environment.

Cheers
Chad

Welcome to the neighborhood, Chad.  Not too sure about your model.  Is it a Centex home?  I have the Palacio and our electric bill is around $140 and I just got the gas bill today which was $25.  If you decide to get a pool everything pretty much doubles.

Hi there.  Yes it is a Centex.  However it's the smallest one of the smaller series... 1434 sq ft.  No pool... I found some links on ED3 and SRP for a ballpark figure.

I've heard conflicting stories about A/C conservation tho.  Like I've heard to turn it to 80 or 82, but then I've also heard to keep it less extreme like 77  or 78 so that when you do turn it down, it doesn't work as hard to cool off.

Anyone have ideas on this?

Peskyguy,
I have the same house and it seems like the house stays pretty cool, As of right now. When I am there doing work I set it on 75 and it will only kick on about 4 or 5 times in the whole day. When I arrive at the house it is usually about 70 or 72 in the house. That is with no AC on during the whole week.
I am going to keep my house at about 77 or 78 because I cant stand it to be hot at all.
