ooh, that sounds good.

Are you making that yourself?

I think at this point, since hubby is still working, it's going to be Teakwood's or maybe a drive to some place..I need to get out of this house!!!

Yes. Cordon bleu is very easy

bonless skinless chicken pound to about 1/4" thick
put a slice of ham and a slice of swiss cheese on chicken
wrap chicken around ham and cheese. place in a pyrex baking dish that has been sprayed with Pam. Put a pat of butter on the chicken. Bake for about 45 min. in a 375* oven.

The rice was Knorr's sidedish. They have several varieties.

Capt Crunch Chicken Fingers

Take some reg Capt Crunch cereal put it in a zip lock bag and then use a rolling pin to smash it to bits. Then take 2 eggs scramble it and pour  maybe 1/4 cup of milk in with the eggs. Coat the chicken strips in the egg mixture then roll it in the cpt crunch. Deep Fry it till the chicken floats on top of the oil. Now you have a sweet tasting chicken strip for a snack or dinner.

I've made something very similar, but not sweet.

Crispix Chicken:

Crush some Crispix cereal in a ziplock bag. Add some crushed rosemary. Coat chicken tenders in a flour mixture with salt and fresh ground pepper, then dip into beaten eggs, then put a few pieces at a time in the ziplock bag. Shake and either fry in a little oil or bake in 325 degree oven till done. Serve with applesauce or as I like, cranberry sauce. It freezes well too.

Tonight I am going to make Angel Hair Primavera. Healthy and easy, and no oven needed!

I got a kitchen itch today.  I bought some "tenderized" bottom round steak and threw it in a pot with some onions, peppers, garlic, italian seasoning, salt and pepper and put it on a slow boil for the day.

I needed a bread to go with that, so I fired up the bread machine to get some dough working and made a batch of bagels.

While I was waiting for the dough, I put together a batch of macaroni salad and a chopped salad (for those that don't want the carbs).

I have a half a dozen ears of white sweet corn ready to go into the pot 5 minutes before meal time.

Some days I just have to scratch the itch.  Tomorrow will probably be Chef Boyardee Ravioli.  LOL

Will this be an entry in the upcoming Chili contest?

Maybe next year.

I've always wanted to enter one of those things but never seem to get around to it.  I think I will just scout the competition this year and then use the next 365 to perfect my recipe.  Problem is, I'm the only one in the house that likes my spicey chili.  I'd feed the extra to the dogs, but, well the aftermath would be toxic!

I'm trying a Jerk Chicken recipe for tonight. It's marinating right now. Smells soooo good!
If it turns out well, I will post the recipe.
