My daughter goes to tutor time, and EVERYDAY asks me for McD's....(usually the answer is no!) but we have been there a few times. After reading this thread I started paying more attention (I have always expected problems at fast food rest's) and I have to say that even though they did not get my order correct, they were very friendly and fast about fixing it. Everyone was smiling when I looked through the drivethru window....and I even got a sincere "have a nice day!"

On that note- I really believe that how you treat people is how YOU will be treated. If you seem upset because of a mistake and ask rudely for them to make it right, chances are they will be rude back. As someone who has always worked in customer service-my favorite saying is to "kill them with kindness" and I usually get what I want

I agree with you Darci. Plus, it's McDonalds. I don't know what the heck people expect. Heaven forbid any of the people who posted on here about their "bad experience" have ever made a mistake in their lives. Im always polite when I order food. I don't want a cheeseburger with a extra spread of loogie. Haha. =)

I had one experience where my order was mixed up. I had gone thru the drive thru they were going to give me a different order. It was a Sunday and the line was long(my timing was bad.) I'm sure inside was a crazy, too. I can understand the confusion. It looked really hectic. All the while, everyone was polite and couteous, apologizing for the mix-up and delay.
All I did was use the two free coupons for Mccafe's. They honored both.

I've been inisde a few times. Each time the service is good. It's much quicker than I expect. My youngest like to climb the play area. My older son likes the video games. My oldest likes to go to socialize with her friends over lunch. Oh yeah,we like the food, too.:o)

My answer WAS "NO" to Q#5 and Q#1.

Is this bizarro world?

Complaining about a fastfood restaurant for sevice at 12:40am?
McDonald's is known for its quality food and service?

A few other things......
1. McDonald's does not serve prime rib! I don't care what the menu says, please don't refer to it as prime rib.
2. Never been to a McDOnald's in the Midwesy, but I highly doubt it any different than any other McDonald's anywhere in the world.
3. MOST IMPORTANTLY....When you go to any ff restaurant, expect them to mess it up. (I always expect something lost in my order and a person that looks at me confused when I give them a $5 and a quarter when my order is $4.25...as if to say.."why are you giving me a quater?").

That is so funny. We went in the other day for a couple of ice cream cones. Final bill was like $3.86. I gave the girl $4.01 and she just stared at the money for a few seconds like it was Japanese Yen or something. I told her to just plug in the numbers and it would be much easier in the end. She did and got this amazed smile on her face and was in awe. There was an older female employee watching over her shoulder who could only look at me and shake her head. When did simple math become so hard. I'd guess at about the same time as when the registers told you how much to give back.

alan,

Could also be when we stopped using cash for most of our purchases. Seems like most people use credit or debit that cash often gets the WHAT'S THAT look.

I agree cash isn't used often. Also, I believe most people uses cash the makes change using even numbers. a purchase of 3.86, I think some,if not most, people would give 4.06. Personally, I think it's easier than having to carry the one two places...... lol.

But for some reason one could think 14cents when present with 4 dollars. It depends on how we are used to processing info.

speaking of Japan...yep the food is the same. To order, I just pointed at the picture on the counter. The price was a different story

Just because its a McDonalds does not mean they should provide bad service! I know the job is frustrating and I know its busy.... I have done that work in my high school days BUT all of us add to big revenue and YES deserve decent service! So yeah I expect to have decent service noy superior but decent! I have only went twice and had one good experience and one bad. My drive thru experience was horrible so doubt I will do that again.

My inside experience they were packed and it went great then when I went through the drive thru no one htere and for the life of me they couldn't figure out my order...a simple order may I add..

My issue inside wasn't with the people working there...it was with the other customers in line. Ok so there are 2 cash registers open...one customer at each. The 3rd customer (which would be me) was standing in the middle creating one line that feeds to both registers....someone came in and stood RIGHT behind the person at the cash register...clearly seeing that I was next. I was so peeved, I didn't say anything though- partly because they chose the wrong line to cut, and the other one was done first....and also because I just didn't feel like being a "B" that day....

But when did common sense not become so common??? I mean, don't they teach you how to line up in kindergarten???

I've been a few more times since my last post and all-in-all, the service is very friendly and the food is just the same as with any other McDonalds. My only thing is, I feel there are too many hands handling one order. When you have 5, 6, people trying to get one order together, thats when the mistakes happen. It should only take one person to get the order out. Other then that, no complaints and any other minor issue will come together with time.

BTW, in keeping with McDonald’s long standing tradition of giving back the communities they serve, This McDonalds will be sponsoring a McTeacher’s night on 9-11 from 4pm-7pm. Teachers from a local elementary school will be helping serve and a percentage of the sales will go to one of our elementary schools.

Please don’t be too hard on the teachers. 

Hope you can make it to help our local kids.

(PS Don't bother with the Long Island Ice Teas... They taste like watered down leaves...)

I know this thread was dead for awhile but I must say I have noticed McDonald's has completely turned around their service here since they opened their doors.

I stopped to grab some breakfast on my way into town on Saturday morning and the dining room was pretty full when I went through the drive through.  The order was taken professionally, I was greeted with a friendly, smiling face, my order was filled to perfection and hot in quite an expedited manner.  I happened to notice what seemed to be a lot less chaos when I peeked in the drive-through window.

We complain quite a bit when things don't go well and we have that right however we should probably be fair and pay a compliment when one is due as well.

Kudos McD's for a quick improvement in serving the community and an additional hats off for helping out the local schools as well.

Well, the people from Zagat's and the Michelin Guide apparently read this site, because I was just informed that they're taking a star away from McDonald's in their next guide revision.

It will now officially be a -1 star establishment.

Well, you all better get use to the limited eating places in this town. After reading the article on the front page about the planning council and how inept they are, we're luck we have the few businesses we have here.

Remember, Mc Donalds is just a fast food joint. Maricopa will be known as the Fast Food Capital of AZ.
