Hey,

Does anyone have experience acid staining concrete?  Especially looking for anyone with experience staining INTERIOR rooms.  I don't want free work, just looking to pick the brain of someone with experience.  I've read a lot online, but I'd like to talk with someone who's done it.

Thanx!

I have done this myself on our back patio. It is pretty easy, but the product you use is important. The first one I tried said it was a medium brown, but it turned out grey...Had to return it. The second one looked too dark brown in the bottle and on the picture on the bottle, but went on perfect. So make sure you test the color on a small spot first. Also there is quit a bit of overspray, so make sure that what you don't want stained, gets covered. It's pretty easy to do yourself, and can save a lot of money if you are patient.

Yeah what she said. Also a slight draw back is if you have carpeted rooms that will need to be removed; tackstrip. When you remove the tackstrip along the walls( this keeps the carpet attatched) there will be small pock-holes due to the release of the nails which bind the strip to the floor. Now you must consider floating ' Quickcrete' over the holes and live with a different colored border, live with the pock-holes, or hire a concrete company to come out and float out the floors. If you do not have carpeted rooms where you are considering putting the stain than make sure the floor is scraped very well.
