Alert | Okay, I currently live in the Tortosa subdivision. I have a huge complaint. Every evening I take a run and it never fails that some unconsiderate person has their vehicle parked on the sidewalk. So I have to put my life in danger and go around the vehicle. I have numerous times contacted the HOA office to come and do some inspections or do something about the vehicles on the sidewalk. All I get from them is we have done inspections and haven't seen these vehicles parked on the sidewalks. The reason why they don't see these vehicles, I found out, was cause they are doing the inspections during the day of the week when no one is home. Apparently they are imposing that I am lying or day dreaming about these vehicles. I have also complained about the unkept lawns and the weeds around the mailboxes. Nothing has been done. I am tired of complaining about this only to get the response that we have conducted inspections and don't see these violations. We all pay the ridiculous HOA fees only to get newsletters stating that our money is being used to fix a broken sign and to pay rent on the new business barn. Where is all this money going? The landscaping they did in the front of our signage is also poorly done. Are we going to get another newletter stating that the grass died so we have to replace that now? Come on, excuses excuses!!

Alert | | Bring a digital camera with you and take pictures of the violations and their addresses. E-mail them to your HOA and they will have their proof. Hopefully that will help.

Alert | I am at the end of Honeycut. Its looks so ghetto when these vehicles park on the sidewalks and sometimes into your yards. I want to have respectful neighors but I am afraid I dont. they think they own your side of the yard and park where they want.

Alert | mw...with all due respect to your comment about trash cans...when my wife first set up the contract when we moved in we were told that the trash can was to be placed at the edge of the curbing on the sidewalk to be picked up...but thats what we were told anyway since i know others put theirs in the streets....
darin....i too live in barcelona...and decided to take a quick spin through our subdivision a couple of days ago when i was coming home...and with regard to weeds....just about every house is doing pretty good...the thing that i got a kick out of was that 2 houses STILL had their christmas lights up | | *formerly known as inyrfce2* Senior Member Posts: 797 Joined: Dec 2006

Alert | I have noticed the sidewalk parking issues. My inlaws live in the Shea homes and their neighbors do it habitually. It is also rampant on my street and don't even get me started on the people who park in their yards...rediculous. So, we can email the HOA ladies our complaints. Let me know if you need help with that...

Alert | I haven't seen anyone parked in the yard. That's TOO funny! Maybe if they gave us bigger driveways and garages.... LOL!
I dunno, considering no one can sell their house here anyway... having trashy neighbors makes me feel better about the few weeds I never have time to get to.
I will make sure I tell my guests not to park on the sidewalk... anymore. (Kidding)

Alert | | What is sad is all the Section 8 housing out in Tortosa. When you have the government paying for your house, why would you want to take care of it??

Alert | Now as far as car on the sidewalk. . . I have to agree with you, they shouldn't be up on the side walk. Instead they should be down in the curb. The HOA isn't going to site them because if I remember correctly the car has to be on the street (sidewalk gutter what ever) for more then 48 hours. This is in your CC&R's. So as long as the car is not there during the day the HOA Ladies can't do anything about it.
Might I suggest being a good a (or annoying) neighbor and go and knock on these peoples door and inform them of your complaint about there car on the “SIDE WALK” as you say.
I will be the first to admit that I like to voice my opinion here and hope that one of my next door neighbors happen to read it. But this is not always the case. So I get out from time to time and converse with my neighbors, nod my head or what ever. If they have a complaint I hope they have the decency to bring it to my attention. If they can’t then it is there loose and not mine.
But don’t get me wrong here, they shouldn’t be parking there cars on the side walk at all, that’s just ghetto.

Alert | Well it discourages me that some of you complain about the small garages and driveways. Unfortunately it is your fault, if you bought the home or are renting it you knew the size of these areas. That is not an excuse so you could park on the sidewalks. Neighbors like you make our community look horrible because you could give a damn about it. In regard to the comment that we should tell our neighbors about our complaints. Now-a-days we don't live in a safe environment with peachy pleasant neighbors. Yeah, we could speak with them and they could seem like they are fine with it then the next thing you know our property has been damaged. I personally don't have the money to pay for damage to my property. The neighbors I have are not friendly and hide in their home. Any other suggestions would help . On the trashcan comment I am confused about where we are suppose to put them too. I try not to place them on the sidewalk but I was also told by the disposal service that I am responsible for any damage to the can. Unfortunately I don't get home until the wee hours of the night like everyone else and my trash can is sitting in the street the entire time. If someone has the HOA rules about the cars and trashcan on sidewalk, would you mind forwarding me a copy? The HOA didn't send me a complete copy apparently and getting something from them is too much of a hassle.
