Alert | We completed our walk through and pretty much tagged all the spots that needed finishing up with attention (Stucco, Exterior Paint, Drywall, Interior Paint, Oversprays, Grout cleaning, etc..). The DR Horton Rep that did the walk through with us documented, taped and tagged areas that we addressed to her with no questions or excuses. Once the items that we tagged has been fixed we need to go back in a few days to verify the tagged areas are completed. THe DR Horton Superintendent that we have been dealing with is Shawna. She did an excellent job making sure that we were happy with the result and some issues that we found she got right on the phone to have it taking care of. There was a DR Horton Rep that seemed unknowledgeble and not very accomodating to us when we were there so that dropped another point of my scale. I am not going to mention names but my wife felt the same way when we were there and he was not very accomodating on both occasions when we met up with. For the overall home and options, There was a few things that they messed up on what we wanted, chose and was on the contract. We were told that there was some miscommunication along the line for there mistakes, we were then accomodated a bunch of other incentives to cover for there mistakes. I believe that was just all human error and not computer error. I still think if they took there time in completing the home instead of rushing for a walk through completion date and rush to close and sign docs then i believe the mistakes could have been corrected or avoided. It looks like all the builders are knocking these homes in record times to make quota or something. Otherwise, for the price that we got and what we are getting into this home is absolutely a GREAT DEAL! I wish they would have just included the landscaping.
Oh yeah, good advice for anyone that still has an appointment to the design center, BRING A CAMERA and take pictures of all your upgrades so once you do your walk through then you can compare you got the items that you have selected.
In my grading scales for the price, customer service, quality, design from start to finish. And being that these are all Track Homes and not custom homes with there build time frame. Overall I give DR Horton a "B-" If it wasnt for the mistakes on the upgraded options that they messed up on and the non-accomodating DR Horton Rep, DR Horton Design Center options then I would have given an overall score of an "A-"
Congratulations to everyone in getting into a new home and I hope we can ALL be great neighbors to look over each other.

Alert | | gvilla: Thankyou so much for sharing you experience. We just signed the papers to have a home built in Eagle Creek and still need to go to the design center... We WILL be bringing a camara. I know I will completely forget what things looked like by the time our house is done. Im glad they were able to fix most of the stuff, and thats horrable that they screwed up an upgrade... I hope it wasnt something to bad, I know I would be very upset if they messed something up that I expected to be done. Congratulations on the new home and wish the best for you and your family! | | ~WARNING: I CANT SPELL!~

Alert | | DR Horton doesn't mail out samples of your selections from the design center? We are building with Shea, and they mailed us out 6*6 samples of our flooring.

Alert | Some other advice Right after your walk thru contact the City of Maricopa to make sure they got the "green Tag" for your gas meter- I just had a very "positive" conversation with the "nice" lady at the City who was HORRIBLE!! bottom line- the city got my green light to put the gas meter on on the 25th and NEVER DID it-dropped the ball!!! SO now we move in tomorrow and we will have NO HOT WATER or stove until Monday!!! Thanks to the fine people at the City of MAricopa!!!
The issue was not with DRHorton but the city dept that handles the gas meter-not the gas company they cannot put on the meter until the city gives the inspection and green tag THEN th egas cocanput on the meter. We never had this issue in California so this was all new to me!
