Alert | Does anyone know if we have a President or any type of governing board since our neighborhood is so new?
I have talked to the property manager guy at the actual management company about the cars parked on my street, and nothing has been done. There are a couple cars that have not moved in months and with everyone parking on the street, it makes our neighborhood look junky...

Alert | | Parking junky cars makes the neighborhood look junky...parking on the street in general looks fine. The street was made for cars. | | 85238>85239

Alert | | Cars that have flat tires make the neighborhood look junky. Cars that owners leave the windows open and throw a sheet of plastic over the seats and dash make the neighborhood look junky. The street is not a parking lot, and we all have driveways and garages here. I don't have a problem with people parking on the street temporarily, but my street has several cars that NEVER move. The one with flat tires and the plastic inside may be an abandoned vehicle. That looks junky and affects everyone's property value.

Alert | | Ok, I totally agree with you on cars that don't move/missing windows/etc. At times I leave 1 of my cars on the street for a day or two so I can get to the car in the garage easier but all my cars run. | | 85238>85239

Alert | | Oh, I also hate cars that leak and the owner puts something under the car to catch the leak. I am glad they don't want to ruin their driveway but that just looks ugly, put it in the garage! | | 85238>85239

Alert | | I don't mind running cars parked on the streets really, but do the drivers realize what a hazard those cars are on these small winding streets? We have a few houses here that always have cars parked on the street. Unfortunately, these houses are on or near corners, and these cars pose considerable danger by parking on the corner. Park up the street a bit so 2 cars don't have to play chicken trying to get around you on a curve. PLEASE!!

Alert | I have counted 11-13 vehicles parked on my cul de sac many nights (on a very short street with less than 15 houses). There are 4 cars that NEVER move and the other 9 are usually there. With no street lights and no one turning on their coach lights, it is pretty dangerous to drive down my street after dark because it would be very easy to hit one of the many parked vehicles.
Parked cars present a safety risk, too. Consider your child walking down the street and someone sitting in parked car with tinted windows and opening the door and grabbing your kid as she walks innocently by. Consider someone lying beneath a car or hiding on the side of a car and then attacking a passerby. Whenever I walk on any neighborhood streets, I walk out into the middle of the road instead of next to any parked car. You just never know what's waiting for you...
The City Code Compliance Officer came through last week and stuck some bright orange stickers on two of the vehicles (one with flat tires and the other parked the wrong way on the street). The owner of one just peeled the sticker off and left the car there with the flat tire. The other hasn't even bothered to remove the sticker. Seriously, you'd swear that our homes were built without garages and driveways.
I started this post in August and there have been very few responses. Am I really the only one that has a problem with this? I guess I moved to the wrong neighborhood...

Alert | | No problem here. We don't seem to have cars stay longer than overnight ever... I just took my son to school and there was only one car parked on the street. What neighborhood are you in?

Alert | | We don't seem to have too much of a problem on our street, but I have seen the cul-de-sac you're referring to with lots of cars and the one with the flat tires. I also noticed the orange stickers the other day. Right after that I saw that they had put air in the tires on the one car, but it was still parked in the same spot. Been sitting in the same spot for months as far as I can tell.

Alert | | I really regret moving to this neighborhood. I have called the AAM property management guy and Brian Duncan to report this problem. Brian came when I called him and then he came on his own recently, but it's doing no good. I can't wait until we get a real HOA...if anyone else sees the problem with all the cars, please voice your concerns. Together, maybe we can clean up our street...

Alert | Can you call the police and report it as an abandoned car?? I mean technically you dont know if its abandoned or not
Do you know who the neighbor is?? Can you talk to them??? I have to say that is one problem with cul-de-sacs... people think they are parking lots.
Hey you could always put FOR SALE on them with the MPDs phone # If they get enough calls they may come and check it out???? hee hee hee

Alert | | Sorry to hear about the parked car issues in your cul-da-sac, but we don't seem to have that issue in my neighborhood. I suggest calling the cops again to have stickers put on their car, the cop is suppose to slice the sticker into pieces after it is put on the window that way it is a real pain to take the sticker off. Also get the cops name, and next time ask for the same cop. The cop will start remembering it is the same car in the same spot everytime and eventually get tired of being called and will just tow it. | | 85238>85239
