At the Desserts in the Desert on Adobe, it was brought to my attention that the round abouts in our community need City signs that indicate ONE WAY...RIGHT ONLY and DO NOT ENTER.

I noticed the round about at the Chase Bank entrance has some signs....but I don't think they are properly marked at each entrance to the round about.

Also the round about at the main entrance has NO SIGNS.

I have reported this to Brent Billingsly at the City of Maricopa. Phone: 520-568-9098

I am awaiting his call back.
Hopefully this will be resolved in a timely manner.

Just a note, there was a "yield" sign up very briefly when the signs first appeared, but it came down and nothing has been seen since. I called the city on this back when it happened, and no one seemed to know anything about it. I also called back in 2004 requesting signs, and was told by the city that they would look into this, and it took them 2 years and many calls to get the signs we did get. I ran out of steam with this one...Good luck!

I'm on the phone now with Brent Billingsly is going to bring this up at his staff meeting tomorrow morning (September 18th).
He will talk about the history of these roundabouts....which he said isn't really a round about at all because there are stop signs at the entrance to each.....
Nonetheless he is going to find out the history of this, how it was designed, etc.
He said that this was designed and installed by a developer.......who probably had sign off by an engineer....but that doesn't mean that it will pass the city standards.
WORSE CASE:
He said that the city might have to recommend that they tear the roundabouts out and turn it into a T section. Guess what the city won't front the cost of all of that IF THAT is the solution because the city didn't design it....it was the developer with their engineers.
BEST CASE:
After the investigation they could recommend additional signage.

They are going to attend the October 16th HOA board meeting. They won't have all their documents and data available for the meeting tomorrow night (September 18th).....

Fun Fun

so, if it is not truly a roundabout, and there is absolutely no signage at the fountain one, it would be ok to turn left there? What's he smokiin?

Yea I can't wait to see what they discover.
Bottom line, I already wrote to the management company and the other board members and told them that if his worse case scenario rings true......
I do NOT want the people of Cobblestone Farms to have to pay for a builder mistake.

I hate these things. I've been nearly hit a few times by idiots going the wrong way around them! Especially at the south one.

Fun fun.

To bring up another point.. what about the streets around the pool? Are those supposed to be one-way? I've always treated them as such, but there's no markings indicating that anywhere. Especially at the two parking areas, where after a nice lazy swim or picnic, you'd be inclined to completely forget which way the stupid road was supposed to go anyway.

GOOD POINT.
I called Brent Billingsly back at the City of Maricopa and have added that to the items I want him to check out.
He or a rep of his is supposed to be at the October 16th HOA Board meeting.

Shucky Darns...I'm blushing.
I'm glad that some folks can sense that I am working.
I mean, I'm a single mom and I drag my son out to the four hour fiascos.

And he's a great, quiet, wonderful little Jr Mint just sitting there playing his game boy.

Sorry if I come across as brass sometimes, but when folks start talking about the board I do take it personally because I actually do care.

I think many people mix up the HOA Board with the management company.

It's understandable but it burns me up to be affiliated with slackers.

i actually left the house today **blushing** and went to exit CF by Chase. I did notice that at the pool island there was a "stay right" sign for southbound traffic, and a yield sign for those leaving the parking area there and wanting to head south. And at the roundabout nearest Chase, there was a "no entry" sign on the left and a (i think it said) "keep right" sign for those going around the damn thing. that way.

I also noticed last night there were 'yield' signs around the first circle near the fountains.
That was fast!

Big smile goes here!
