This Saturday Sept 22 the Social Committee Members that can meet should try and be at Michelle A's house around 6pm. We can organize, grab tables, chairs, and then leave together to get to somewhere on Gibson Drive to kick off the 6:30 Desserts in the Desert.
Questions: email or call me

Thanks,
Kimberly

Sunday, September 30th

The meeting on Sunday was a success.
We kicked off the Phantom Ghost Project by stuffing 32 bags of candy.
4 bags were secretly deployed to each of the 8 parcels.

Now we must continue by each of the Social Committee Members doing his/her two bags.

I hope this really takes root and everyone has fun with it in each of their parcels.

The next meeting for the Social Committee is TENTATIVELY SET FOR:

When: Monday, September 8th
Where: Liana's House
What Time: 6:00PM

We are going to discuss our "AROUND THE WORLD" concept for November.
Come with your ideas......

1) Canned Food Drive
2) Everyone participating bring a dish of some sort (thus the Foods From Around the World concept)
3) Talk about Bouncies for kiddies
4) Music?
5) Entertainment?
6) Donations from local venues? Bashas, Fry's, etc etc

Review of the Meeting from yesterday, Monday, October 8th.

Held at 6pm at Liana's house.

Folks Present:
Liana
Kimberly
Karen
Michelle A

Trying to come up with a date for our November Event.
We decided on either November 10th or November 17th
I have a call into Officer Koozer 520-316-6869 trying to find out which date would work out best for the police.
We want the police to be there with their DARE care, maybe even McGruff for the kids, and so that they can do VIN etchings, and children's fingerprinting.

I have not heard back from Officer Koozer. I left him a vm about 30 minutes ago.

Michelle A has volunteered to check with the Maricopa Food Bank to see if they will provide big boxes for us on the day of the event to collect canned food. We would like to have a big canned food drive as November/Thanksgiving is the time to GIVE!
She is also going to check and see if the Maricopa Food Bank has tables that they can loan us.
And she is going to check with her neighbor about the possibility of us using their hot dog stand to make hotdogs on the day of the event.

We are hoping to contact Michelle M to see if she has any connections for the following:
1) Two Bouncies (DO WE NEED TO GET A PERMIT FROM THE CITY to have these on our private cobblestone farms property)?
2) music---know anyone that could come out and provide music for this event?

Karen is going to check with local businesses (Chamber of Commerce) to find out who has a business that lives in Cobblestone Farms that might want to set up a booth.

Can we charge each person $25 to come and set up a booth??????????

We do not want people to sell or do business that day....rather we want them to come and highlight their business. Maybe each business would have some sort of freebies to give away????

Liana is going to check on costs of soda, water, hotdogs, hotdog buns, and snacks(chips).

Karen is also going to check in on different sorts of craft tables that we can have for the kids on that day.

Our next meeting is going to be OCTOBER 18th at 7:00pm at Liana house.

Hopefully we will all have answers to the items above and can start proceeding.......

Linda--do you think Fulton would kick in for this event?

If I have forgotten anything, please do a reply all and make changes or updates so we all can see.

Thanks,

Kimberly

I have food to donate for sure!
I don't think a permit is needed for bouncies, when I looked into them for a birthday party at the splashpad the company said they do them their no problem all the time.

and for the crafts for the kids: Lakeshore Learning Center (Ahwatukee) has kits of all inclusive craft projects (i think each box has enough for 24 kids) for about $1 per project.

Thanks Kimberly!

If you can't spot the loser, it might be you
