Alert | Ok seriously, guys. I'm sick of this. I've been living in CF for almost 2 years now (one of the first homes). I've been to the pool three times. I don't have my own pool, I just don't use it much.
WHY is it that every single time I go to the pool, the locks or locking mechanism have changed? First it was a combo lock (whose combination I had to determine from the neighbors), now they're on the second set of keys? WHY DON'T I HAVE A KEY TO MY FRICKIN COMMUNITY POOL????????? Do you have to complain to someone to even be told it's changed? Do they normally send out new ones, it's just that they "forget" to include my address in the list of addresses in the community?
Seriously, what do I need to do to be given a new pool key?
</griping> Thanks. <img src='http://www.85239.com/desktopmodules/ntforums/images/emoticons/smile.gif' height='20' width='20' border='0' title='Smile' align='absmiddle'>

Alert | Yeah, I will. What I was able to determine was that the management was considering changing the locks (due to all the vandalism). Now, that's cool, and I support that. But, either they changed the locks a year ago and never told me, or they've already changed them again in the last few months... and never told me. The key I used once last April hasn't worked this month.
To get THAT new key, which I was never informed had been changed, I had to call 6 times and then just offer to pick the damn thing up at their offices. It took me four weeks to get it.
Has anyone else experienced this? Or is it really just me?

I have read and understood the posting on this thread and have nothing to add.

Alert | I have been at CF since Sept 05. The key I was given is the key that still works. I was not here when there was a combo lock that required a super secret combination! What did the Management company say? Did they indicate taht on a certain day the lock was changed and that people that had keys prior to that day would have to get new ones.
I would like to know as I am on the board and was NOT AWARE of anyone experiencing an issue with not having the appropriate key for the pool.

Alert | Cobblestone Girl, I was also one of the first in CF Feb 05. And was given one of the original keys from when the sales office gave them out. I have never gotten a new key and ours has always worked and still did even last week. That is odd, however, sometimes when a new lock, (same key configuration) is put on some keys are off just a hair that they don't work. My mother had a security door added to her home. The company struggled with her lock and finally made it work. However, when I tried my key to her screen it would not open, yet it would still open the front door. My mother's key, the one the copy was made from however, opened both locks. Sorry for rambling, but maybe it was your key. Either way, no excuse for you to have to go through so much to get a new one. Good luck, sorry you had such a hassle. | | Michelle Mazzola

Alert | | what happened was they used the same locks as the bathroom doors so the key they gave you originally works in the front gate. back when it was a code, the only key you used was to get in the bathroom. so to avoid having to send everyone new keys when they went to a lock&key vs the code for the gate, they just had everyone start using the key they had originally just for the bathroom as the same for the front gate. hope this helps........ | | listened for, they cannot be heard;looked for, they cannot be seen; felt for, they cannot be touched: old ninja proverb

Alert | I have had my key since they changed it from the code lock. I was just there today and my key still works. I have had it for a very very long time and never once have I had a problem getting in.
I am so sorry to hear you are having such a hard time with it. I hope you get it all resolved soon <img src='http://www.85239.com/desktopmodules/ntforums/images/emoticons/smile.gif' height='20' width='20' border='0' title='Smile' align='absmiddle'> | | ChiTownChick Senior Member Posts: 5241 Joined: Jul 2005 "Woke Up This Morning With A Wine Glass In My Hand "

Alert | If the pool was broken did anyone report it to Renehan and Lepen??????
480-345-0046
It must be reported through the management company so that they can get a work order created.

Alert | Phew... ok guys, sorry, I went off on vacation and never responded.
Weird. We never got a "bathroom" key -- I guess that explains why they never sent out "replacement" keys when they switched to the lock! I wonder if they just forgot that part of my closing? Or the sales office just forgot? (they did everything else really well, so I'm not knocking them. just "huh").
I double checked with a couple neighbor's keys just to make sure I wasn't a moron and trying the wrong key the whole time. hehe. The key looks correct, but I bet you're right michmazz -- mine is just a bit off. Either that, or at some point, I did switch two similar looking keys and have just been storing the wrong one this whole time. LOL.. I wouldn't put that past me. What I haven't done yet is actually call to get a new one from the management company.
Thanks SO much everyone! I am actually relieved to see it's just me.

Alert | So how do get keys???????? Can the HOA get off their butts and send flyers out to the mailboxes then anyone who needs one comes to the old office and get it on a sunday or something.
Its not that hard! The HOA needs to solve problems not create ones. Like weed compliants.

Alert | Dear Firebirds....
The HOA board members (including myself) do not manage the keys for the pool. You must contact the Cobblestone Farms Management Company...The management company is Lepin and Renehan. They can be reached at 480-345-0046. The property manager is Linda Severs.
If you are a renter then your landlord should have given you a key. If your landlord didn't---then take that up with him/her. If your landlord claims not to have a key, tell them to contact the Management Company to get one to give to you. If you are a renter, you cannot go to the Management company for a key. They won't give it to you. You must be the owner of the home to actually have a key physically given to you by the management company.
If you recently purchased your home from a former owner, that owner should have given that to you the same as he/she should have given you the keys to your home and the garage door opener. If not, once again, you must go through the management company. Else, try contacting the original owner and acquiring the key.
Fliers cost the community $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ There are nearly 900 homes in the Cobblestone Farms covering 8 parcels.
The Social Committee, which I chair, actually had volunteers walk fliers around to all the homes to get community involvement on the Desserts in the Desert activity which we held during the month of September.
Guess what?
We had about 20 people per weekend that actually came out and joined the activities. That ain't diddley squat for a community our size.
I bought the paper for about $20, I printed it out, another group of gals punched and put rubberbands through the fliers, and then the Social Committee walked from house to house to flier.
I find that this forum is much more effective than fliering --- and cheaper.
Nonetheless, there will be additional fliers from the Social Committee for events happening in the month of November. If we don't have to mail them and if I can continue to muster up support (and door to door walkers) we will flier.
We are also kicking off some fun activities in October...Phantom Ghost....
I'm sorry you are disgruntled...but I assure you....it's not the HOA Board you should be upset with. I don't know your exact situation but I hope that I have covered all possibilites above and provided you with a means to get the pool key.
Regards, Kimberly | | | |
