Thanks Graham for all the hard work you and all the board members do. I will get as many of our neighbors as I can to attend the next meeting. Maybe we can all band together as one voice and not accept the standard BS "Sorry, out of time" answer. I agree that us residents need to be in force to support you and Reagan and not allow the same excuse from Ogden, as it got really old last time.

In regards to the "Out of Time" answer that Ogden likes to give us...at the last meeting it seemed (in my opinion) that there were several minutes at the very begining where we did nothing but listen to Kriss read off financials. Was this necessary? If the financial information is included in the Board Members packet I'm sure they are capable of reading themselves and I as a homeowner sitting in the audience personally don't need a 10 minute re-cap every month of "we have XX number of homes, and XX number that have delinquent dues, and we spent $XX on the water bill...." I would rather have that extra time to have our questions answered. If Kriss feels it is so important for the 25 or so people who actually show up to the meetings to have this info, why not just run off a few copies and hand them out along with the agenda rather than reading them off to us?

There are a lot of things going on that just are not right.  The very first thing is that you DO NOT shut down the homeowners when it's THEIR HOA.  Ogden works for the HOA not the HOA working for Ogden.

As for the "out of time" issue contact the school and get a room.  You can have the room till 11:00 pm if necessary and it's under $75.00.

What Ogden is not telling you as homeowners that is before any decisions are made by the board there is a process that has to happen.  First a motion is made and then seconded.  Before the board can vote on the motion the homeowners HAVE TO be given the option to voice their opinion.  Only after that can the board then make a decision.

As for the landscaping issue.  I do not understand how any management company that is looking out for what is best for the community would even allow a company to do ANY work without the proper documentation.  I'm also wondering how a management company would recommend that a current landscaper be kept on the payroll when there has been another company that is LOCAL (that keeps dollars in our city) that is willing to do more work for substantial savings.  With the rate of foreclosure and delinquent homeowners the first priority of any company would be to save money where ever possible.

I can not attend your meeting as a homeowner since I do not live within your community.  But I do read through all the HOA threads.  I myself am a board member for Desert Cedars and fully understand everything that you are going through.

We just recently changed our landscapers to H&N.  Their proposal came in to be substantially less than what we were paying our current landscapers and will be on site once a week instead of the twice a month service that we had.

I'm sorry for rambling on.....it just gets me to hear stuff like this.  If any board member would like to contact me I would be more than willing to help you guys sort things out and offer whatever advice I can to help.  Just send me a PM with your number and I'll give you a call.

Smokin Ace, Tio Jr, I will be at the June meeting.....and I will motion........./and  or I will second the motion to have a vote to give notice to our present Landscaper ( I'm told 30 days) and to hire another company that does have a ROC and  whom charges us less money for more work.  Who also has the proper doc. to put down chemicals if we need them and who can do more than $1,000 worth of work if we need such.  I'm guessing that the company H & N has already given our board quotes.  They are also local so I'm sure that they would be eager for the business.  Let me know if there is anything else that I may need to include in my  motion.

I am not saying H&N is the answer I just think it needs to be someone with proper documents such as H&N. Personal I think they do nice work and should be considered for a replacement.

I agree with what I have heard from the H&N owners/employees. We all know where they live, and if something isn't the way it should be, we are all going to be knocking on their doors until it gets fixed.

I personally like that type of accountability. But again whether its H&N or someone else, I would like to see someone with the proper insurance and licenses.

Forensic unit and others. I was at the last meeting but was forced to leave early by family. that wont happen next time. i'll stick around and tell you board members what i think of you and how great of a job you all are doing

at first i was asking why foley is getting such a hard time from us when he seemed like a stand up guy and did all the required work, then found out that it was not for his work (for the most part) but for his lack of license and how much of a HUGE liability that is. So now i'm on the "get a licensed groundskeeper' wagon.

but at the meeting (our 2nd meeting) we had questions for foley and as far as i know of just got a bid from H&N, foley is still our groundskeeper. next meeting we "hopefully" can vote on a new groundskeeper or give foley his 30 days and then look for a replacement and get that replacement voted on by our 4th meeting.

i realize this stuff is slow going and we forum participants get bored and are not happy unless we gripe about something or someone's yard. people dont say nice things in here on how great life is all the time. they mentions all the problems with our community.

we are always going to have someone complaining about something in here but as long as the complaints stay to just weeds and the way our HOA is run and no time at meetings. i'm fine with it. it becomes a problem when i start to hear about gangs in the area and police knowing residence on a first name basis (and not for good reasons) and gun shots heard at night and drug bags found at the playgrounds. that is when i will start to worry about our area.

now since that has not happend yet. i'm pretty happy.

we have weeds, like trio junior says, if you see a problem, fix it so the hoa doesnt fork out funds to fix it. if it is on someone elses yard like weeds. i'm sure you can either take a picture or ask the nieghbor if you are not shy and see if they will clean it up or pay you to clean it up for them. i mean why should you pay for it. especially if they live there. and not abandoned it like the ones living near trio junior.

grafttite? well that gets cleaned up quickly so not to much to grip about there sept that it keeps happening. same thing with the lights and sprinkler heads.

i only ask that one thing be changed to include a request i have.

on valentines day (i think it was valentines day) tortosa hoa was handing out orange juice and a granola bar to any passer by's that happen to be heading out of town on honneycutte. it was great. i was thinking where is my hoa at so i can get some free food too. and yes i did partake in the free offerings they gave me.

Looks like the wall on Marty Lynn is all built.. now for paint. Weren't they going to put a walkway through there? At least they built that section of the wall per spec and not 5ft like mine

JHall,

I asked the same question of Graham awhile back in a different topic. His response was they had decided to not put a gate or pass through there due to costs.

My parents and grandmother live two doors down from the wall. They wanted a walk through along with all the neighbprs they have spoken to. Sounds like they are going to try to get the HOA to put one in there at some point. Most of the neighbors are upset they were not asked for an opinion.

Many did not even know it was a topic that was going to be discussed by the HOA. Who decided a wall was even needed?
Did you want a gate as well?

Jhall,

You were at the last HOA meeting when I moved to approve the wall without the walkway. You even took the time to speak to us about the company that is building the wall. When I made the motion, I explained that the gate did not appear to be cost effective for the project. Marti Lynn is the furthest south street in the community, and walking that distance is far less of an incovencience than to somone who lives int he middle of the community. But no one else got gates in their walls either. I explained myself, and then made a motion for approval. I was seconded, and the motion was approved. No one at the meeting voiced any opposition to the project, other than the selection of the builder.

Nate,

The agenda for the meetings is public record. As a courtesy to the residence, I have consistently posted the agenda on this forum. This is not a requirement, it's something I do to encourage a higher attendance at the meeting. Before last meeting I posted the aganeda which included discussing the Marti Lynn project. I strongly urge people to find out what's on the agenda, and then attend if they have input on a topic. That's the entire reason these meetings are public.

NateK1975, if you would like to know about changes that go on in the community, attend a HOA meeting. Our board members have gone above and beyond to try and get people to attend the meetings. We elected representatives, and they hold public meetings to make these decisions. The wall was brought up by a homeowner living near the area. The board took a month to see for themselves the need, then make a decision on the best way to move forward. Try attending a meeting if you want your opinion heard. And bring as many of your neighbors with you. Its sad that out of 1375 homes less than 50 people attend these.

I do remember the decision to leave out the gate. I don't remember the wall being approved, but that is 100% my fault. I was either not sitting close enough to hear the approval go thru, or was having a side conversation and missed the motion/vote. I didn't hear that it was approved until after the meeting when speaking with another attendee. Either way, the wall looks great, I am glad its there, and hope the paint matches well.

Thanks board members for the speeding decision/ build time there.

I am "utterly" confused by all this HOA stuff. I thought nothing could be approved without a majority vote from the board. However, I thought the president of the hoa approved the wall and ONLY one other person on the board second the motion. Is my math wrong or is that 2 out of 5? Is that considered majority rules or should the other people on the board had an opportunity to vote on this? From now on do all changes only need two peoples approval? Also, was this wall needed so badly so quickly or would it have been ok to wait a month to see what was going to happen w the landscapers and see if HN would do it (they had mentioned they would have done it for free). I agree the wall should have been put in place but I don't quite understand the process or the need to facilitate so quickly at a cost (vs free- free is always worth looking into) Can someone clarify?

Hello everyone,

First off, we would like to say thank you for your support.  We at H&N have been working as most of you know to become Senitas landscape maintenance company.  We know that we can do the job at a much lower cost to our community.  We are a local company that has to drive one mile to get to Senita where as any other company has to come from Phoenix or wherever.  At $5 per gallon for diesel, that alone equates to more money saved by using H&N.

We have submitted to the board several different proposals.  We are willing to do many extras for free such as 100 front yard cleanups.  We know that we can provide Senita with top notch service at a large savings.

All of the owners and several of our employees live in Senita, as a matter of fact between all of us we own 7 houses in phase 3.  We are here everyday, to drive through the neighborhood to make sure it looks perfect. We want to live in a beautiful community.

So that you all know, we currently maintain Maricopa Meadows, we started Desert Cedars today and we will start Acacia Crossings on July 1st.  Their boards have all compared our bids and have switched to us because they have found that we will save them thousands of dollars each year and that our service can not be beat.  We are a local company that gives back to the community.   A great deal of our money stays in Maricopa not to mention the tax revenue that the city gets from our business.

We offer personalized service, immediate response to any problem, at a lower cost.  Any contract can be cancelled upon 30 days written notice.  There is absolutely nothing to lose by trying us.  We know though that you will love what we offer the community.

Please come out to the meeting wednesday and voice your opinion to the board.  They will listen to you.  It is your neighborhood as well as ours.

Thank you all,

H&N Landscape

I wanted to be the first to thank you for posting here and getting in on the conversation. I think you have a lot to offer the community members in Senita now we all just have to get on the same page and make it happen.

H&N Landscaping took over the contract for us at Desert Cedars and has been on site just two days and there is a huge difference.

They are not about the money but more about what the community looks like.  They care about Maricopa and want to have a great looking place to live.

You will not be sorry that you've entertain their proposal at all.  They will save you money and have your community looking better than ever before.

Reagan and ForensicUnit,

I would love to attend, however, I fly for a living and to try to show up for a meeting when I am in NY or FL is kind of difficult. The rest of the family flys for a living as well. None of us have yet to recieve one of the notices or flyers from the HOA. All of us have lived in Senita and OWN our houses for over 9 months now. NO HOA updates. I try to get on here to see what is going on but I am on the road alot. If we had advance notice then I might be able to trade around a trip to facilitate my being at a meeting.
