i like the 1 trash, 1 recycle

if you seperate the trash from recyclable stuff you wont have to worry about filling up the trash bin. I have a family of 6 and have no issues with doing it this way.

If you need more space on trash day, you are welcome to use the left over space in my bin

Thanks reagdog for the update.

We have a CONTRACT with folyage?
what other companies besides trash, do we have a contract with?

We do have a contract with Foleyge, but the contract is cancellable on a 30 day notice, so it's easy to get out of the contract if we want. We also have LONG term contracts with Orbitel and Waste Management. I believe our contract with Ogden is probably cancellable on a 30 day notice as well.

I also like 1 day trash and 1 day recycle. I only have 3 in my family, but my trash and recycle come out about even if I actually recycle everything I should. If we went to 2 days trash, hardly any one would actually take it upon themselves to call Maricopa Disposal to get a recycle bin (and pay more)- which would mean hardly any recycling from our neighborhood - which is not good.

I would also like to make a landscaping decision quickly.

I have another question regarding speeding the fines/cleanups process to a quicker timeline. Is there any Arizona law that states how quick this can be done?

I honestly think the 45ish day plan we are on now is adequate, as long as we are getting equal enforcement. I believe the reason there has been a lot of complaints about the timing is nothing had really been done until this point. Once the major offenders are cleaned up, I think 45 days is probably fair. The last thing we would want to see is the HOA paying for cleanups, and someone taking us to court saying 20-30 days isn't adequate, then winning and we are out the money. But if there is no law governing our timeline, then I say what ever the board wants I support.

I am all for the increase in fines, on an organized scale, to a predetermined maximum. It makes perfect sense that someone who is parking a boat in there front yard will continue to do so without an increase in fines. I think this is a great idea.

Ronald Reagan, 1992 convention Speech, "...we see all that rhetorical smoke, billowing out from the Democrats, well ladies and gentlemen, I'd follow the example of their nominee. Don't inhale.
This fellow they've nominated claims he's the new Thomas Jefferson. Well, let me tell you something. I knew Thomas Jefferson. He was a
friend of mine. And governor, you're no Thomas Jefferson.

I don't think there is a law in regards to an exact time frame, but I'm pretty sure you have to give the homeowner some sort of "reasonable" notice. I have heard that some HOA's send out 1 10 day letter and then a fine after the 10 days.

Like you said, it's a double edged sword because we can do more clean ups if we shorten the time frame, but that means additional costs to the HOA. Obviously our HOA doesn't have an unlimited amount of money to spend on front yard clean ups.
