Does anyone have any ideas for city-wide graffiti removal? I know other valley cities do.

It's frustrating to see so much vandalism around the new elementary school and Frys. But, I'm not able to paint over the graffiti outside of Senita- the paint and supplies I use are paid for by our HOA.

Thanks for taking care of this so quickly. Do we have all of the color codes yet from Ogden so we can match when we paint? I'd be more than happy to become involved with Senita Tagger recoveries if we can get the correct supplies.

I haven't been able to get the paint codes. Different builders using different painters or some such reason. Perhaps someone on the forum has paint matching skills. I haven't figured out how to get a sample off a brick wall yet either.

Each builder's customer service rep should be able to provide color codes. For Senita, the brick walls are painted Potato Skin and ACE has the mix code for that.

FYI -
Pulte's walls are Potato Skin but DR Horton's walls are a different color and the "theme walls" (walls that back up to common areas/streets/exteriior of community are a different color as well, so there are 3 different colors of walls in the neighborhood.

In Phase 3, the Pulte and DR Horton homes have the same interior wall color. I can see a guy install them at a DR house behind mine right now and they match the wall between ours and the blocks are already brown (not painted, but mixed into the concrete). I believe the color is Potato skin since we had to have our landscaper match it too. The common area walls along Santa Rosa and the greenways are 2-toned, both of which appear to be different from the interior walls.

We had our wall spray painted too and called the HOA. Somebody covered it up, I'm guessing the volunteers now that I'm reading this. Thank you for your help! We planted a cactus garden along that wall afterward. Little cactus that can't be seen very well at night, bwahaha. Hasn't been a problem since ; )

Thanks for reporting it.  I covered it this evening... there were three tags along maricopa groves.  I've been asked to allow the city to look at it before I cover it but I'm not inclined to leave it up until a bureaucrat gets time to swing by.  It's the same tags, in the same areas...

Anyone who has experience/interest in establishing a neigborhood watch program please get the ball rolling with our new HOA leadership.

I would love to catch one of these graffitti-dumbasses.  I'd like to stand with my boot on his throat and ask him to please explain to me why someone does this.

I'm new to the neighborhood and would be willing to help with the graffiti removal. It's good to live somewhere that the neighbors care enough to get involved. Thank you all.

I agree with the 'not letting it stand' concept. I have covered up many tags recently.
The Graffiti task force does seem to be pretty quick. One thing, though... Before covering it, take a picture or 2 and make sure they get to the MPD. They are trying to caltalogue the tags. remember, each tag tells a story. Tags together hold a lot more info than you think.

For the record, tags are done for many reasons. They can state that the area is owned by a certain gang, They can state who their enemies are, they can state upcoming events (Not usually fun events) They can be done by people that just want to vandalize the wall.
Tags can be answered as well. Ever wonder why a blue tag is sprayed over with another tag of a different color?
There is much more than meets the eye here.

And please don't tell me that gangs are not here. I challenge anyone to find a town in the US that has no gangs. I don't think you can find one. The money helps create very long fingers.

I called the MPD PIO to volunteer for the task force and did not get a call back. I guess they don't need help?

Let X=X

tagh8r,
We got nailed in Phase II. It's on Greenway between Maricopa and Magnolia (Left off Maricopa Groves at Pulte Model homes and right at first street). It' on the block wall directly across from the mail boxes. Thanks. Alan

My thanks to the individual(s) who covered the graffiti initially- I wasn't able to get to it right away.

I'll be re-covering it with a better color match this week- there's a lot of different shades in the community.

I'm not a painter by trade so color matching is a challenge... without a sample to take to ACE I'm reduced to holding up color swatches to the wall and using trial-and-error.

just buy potato skin color. eventually you will have the whole neighborhood painted that color and you wont have to worry about color matching.

in all seriuosness though. can we setup a camera or something to see who is doing it.

i too like the MOB watch. that would be great. I would love to TAG them with my spray can. see how they like it.

Money isn't everything.
Everyone just thinks it is...

Pretty sure this one is Potato Skin.
