they are between 20 and 60 a month, depending on the type of system and what kind of monitoring. Ex cellular backup, or a 2 way voice panel.

Nate1975, I gotta see this dog! HaHA we have some friends that found a Mastiff in the desert. It took them over an hour to catch it. It wasn't wearing a collar so they kept him.

good lord! i hate moving! now i'm about 75% completed *sigh* looks as though people are starting to move in the new senita (is it still call senita reserves?). so far, i like my house, love the space. i noticed that if i leave at/around 6am, theres not much traffic.

btw, i just found out to have an alarm system, make sure you have a non-digital phone line; also, i just found out that our subdivision does not have broadband internet yet *another sigh* and i called Orbitel's customer service, i just want to say that they lack in communication. i don't have my cable set up yet. apparently, i had to stay home for the tech. person to come out (but that's not what the customer service rep. told me). anyways, this had happened to a couple of neighbors as well. SO, HEADS UP PEOPLE.

C&W, why can't you have a digital phone line with an alarm system? We have voip through Orbitel and all we had to do was have Monitronics install a cellular unit as the primary means to call the dispatch center. We had cell back-up on our last alarm just in case someone cut the phone lines.

Some alarm systems are capable of using digital lines. It just depends on how new or how cheap the system is. But the cell backup stuff is really cool.

Even if your alarm can not use digital lines you can still use cellular primary, which is actually safer anyway because the lines can not be cut, it's a cell signal.

clock is ticking! so far, on my block, all else seems quiet and that's what i like. i think my neighbors hating me for having my cars parked out on the street; sorry, but i had to clean out the garage before i could park my cars in.

btw, our house does not have Qwest DSL and don't know when they will install it, so i'm resorting to Oribtel; well, i'm going to give them a shot.

I am waiting for them to do your stucco because I don't think they will do our wall until the stucco is done. Our house is almost done! <img src='http://www.85239.com/desktopmodules/ntforums/images/emoticons/smile.gif' height='20' width='20' border='0' title='Smile' align='absmiddle'>

Hey C&W...I think you live across from me (it's Leslie). We ended up going with Orbitel for internet and just got up and running last week. I didn't think I would like it, it seemed slow at first but now after a few days I have no complaints...which is amazing for me!!! Qwest is another story though, our phone is finally working for the past week and a half but in that short time it's gone out twice and they've had to send someone to fix it!!!

I was thinking after it cools down a bit and everyone gets moved in we could have a neighborhood get together to meet people?!?!?!

I got the same thing. Yesterday I called to schedule things like phone and cable to be installed the day after closing... but I was told Qwest DSL is not available at this time. I guess I will have to go with Orbitel until Qwest gets everything in order.

Yeeeeah!! You found this place! I also went with Orbitel too, thought I give them a try but I won't get it until next Monday. I had a problem with Qwest too, but it's a loooong story. Hope you guys were okay with me parking my cars on the street, it should be okay now <img src='http://www.85239.com/desktopmodules/ntforums/images/emoticons/cool.gif' height='20' width='20' border='0' title='Cool' align='absmiddle'>

I'll second your get together with the neighbors. I I think our street is starting to fill up.

Ken,

From what I heard, Qwest is still waiting for the equipments to come in. I hope it's on an ASAP so I could bundle my packages.

We will be in at the end of this month. We are ready for a mid-october block party. The weather should be great, and it will be a great time to get to know everyone. Maybe we can also find out if a block/neighborhood watch has been started, and get some info handed out at that time.
