Alert | | That sucks. What part of Senita 1 do you live in? What did you do when you caught them in the act? Do you have an alarm on your car? Was it parked on the street or in your driveway? How many of them were there? Are any of them still alive? Sorry to hear about that. | | | |

Alert | now i myself have had my car broken into a few times and here are some tips i can suggest.
1. most importantly, have an alarm on the car
2. dont have anything valuable in the car that someone else can see through the windows.
- per the cop that helped me with the last theft i had. he said they will walk by your car and if they see something valuable in the car (purse in the center console) expensive cd player, stuff in the back seat, etc they will smash and grab. if you have an alarm on the car they will be less likely to break into your car.
3. anything you put in your car (stereo, speakers, etc) try to get the serial number because eventually most of these crimitals get caught and having serial numbers and model numbers of stuff can recover your stuff. even if you have replaced it already you will at least get what you had lost.
and 4. if you find your car got broken into, dont touch it, dont look to see what they took. call the cops first to run finger print checks and inspect what happend. your stuff is not going anywhere and you can wait 20 min for them to show up and get fingerprints. if you can prevent it, dont touch the door handle either.
and if you cuaght them i would hope you would have shot them or at least chopped off there hand. | |

I hate to say it but most of these criminals know what they are doing and you won't see any fingerprints or forensic evidence. Also, you may have quoted response times here but in Phoenix, they don't even bother sending someone out unless the loss was extremely valuable...then you are stuck waiting for an officer to call you to take a report, in excess of 3 hours. I had the serial number of a digital camera I had stolen but it took so long to get the info to LE that the perp could have pawned it 10 times over. Don't depend on LE to show up at your door like Santa Claus with your stolen items....keep them out of your vehicle period. When I had my last theft, nothing was in view...they took a chance and broke in anyway. Where did this incident take place in phase 1?

Alert | In laws were in town over the weekend. Mother in law heard my brother in laws horn honk (he had an alarm) three times around 2am. She woke him up, then me. By the time we rounded the corner of the house they were running down the street. My gut reaction was to lay chase but then figured I could get shot or stabbed by some young punk. I had left my car door unlocked (shame on me) 2 months ago and had quite a few things stolen, so it's probably the same people. It's time to get a car alarm! I live on Gabriel Path. | | | |

Alert | If an "in the box" system is too costly, it isn't much to rig up something on your own if you have a wireless network and decent PC. I already do something similar with a wireless camera that points at the baby's crib upstairs so when my wife is downstairs working, she can watch him so cost would really depend on quality of camera and how many areas you need to monitor using this method but I've been pretty happy thus far. | |

MIne have nbeen up for 2 years and I have been thinking about upgrading them to the newer smaller ones. They have a lot of selection at Fry's and the worker was amazingly knowledgable. | | | |
