Renters are everywhere, sorry to break it to you. Maybe 'deserve" was the wrong word, don't attack me. What do you expect? Senita has weeds tall enough to swallow small children and boarded up houses, do you really expect the wealthy to move next door? I'd rather have a Section 8 renter in next door than a vacant mess, but that's just me....

WOW ok, basically I do not want Senita 3 to look like the other Senita communities. As of now I have great neighbors and a relatively quiet comunity. I drove around Saturday night in Senita east of the wash at midnight and did not see one person. I then drove over to Senita west of the wash for comparison and sure enough I saw kids running and hiding when they would see my headlights and a few other people sitting on the basketball courts.
I also understand that renters are everywhere, so why can't the community have a rule so that you can not rent your house or not allow so called investors to do this.
I wonder how the home owners that decided to rent to Section 8 people would feel if we told them that the community THEY LIVE IN was going to have a percentage of the homes in their community Section 8.
And I guess I am also differnt because I would rather have a vacant home next to me than a Section 8 resident. When I go out and spray my yard I can take the 15 minutes and spray theirs as well. I also would feel more comfortable because I would know that the house is vacant so any noises or diburstances would get reported right away. I wouldn't have to worry about the Section 8 renters who brought their children from an urban ghetto environment who are now going to click with the other ghetto superstars that Maricopa has and have them all hanging out next door.
Here's an off topic but I found it very disturbing for everyone as well. I have a friend who lives in the Senita west of the wash and we were talking in his driveway about his community and how he doesn't feel that safe anymore because his neighbors home got broken into last week. There happened to be about 6 teens (probably 13-15) walking down the street on the other side and I yelled over to them "How do you guys like living in Maricopa?" Their response..."You means MURDACOPA" and then they threw up what looked like pretty lame gang signs. I said "Are you joking me? Murdercopa?" They said that's what the kids call it in school.
GREAT let's invite more of this mentality into our communities.

Have you ever actually met any folks on Section 8 assistance? Why the assumption that anyone receiving assistance are degenerates or from the ghetto? Even people with "breeding" get into financial trouble as well. How can you say renters & Section 8 renters bring in the "Murdacopa" mentality? Agreed, renters do not have the same sense of ownership & pride (maybe) that homeowners do, BUT that does not mean they are poor tenants/neighbors or that homeowners are excellent neighbors. And, before you ask, I have never received any form of assistance and have never rented a home. I just don't believe in vast generalities. I can say that the renters I've known as neighbors have been courteous, responsible and respectful. I can also say that many homeowners I've known have been atrocious neighbors as well. I think you need to lower your nose a smidge. Also, a vacant home is an easy target for burglars. Appliances walk too.

Sounds to me like its more of a racial issue than a rental issue to me. All different races are on Section 8. Single moms that can't afford a big fancy home for their children but are doing their best are on section 8 as well. Not everyone is as lucky as I am to have a great job and afford my own home. These people have jobs, its a requirement of section 8 to be employed, but just don't make enough money. I could go on forever but I won't, everyone is entitled to their opinions, I obviously feel the opposite as everyone else does. Have a great day!
