Alert | We need to look into a different configuration for that lighting. It gets fixed and gets rebroken within a week. Kids running around during the youth sports practices maybe? I think that if we had a light projecting down from the top of the wall we might have a longer period between repairs. If it's vandals, then there is nothing to do (that's acceptable by our society )

Alert | | I just walked by the main Senita sign and it is definitely vandalism and not a case of light bulbs burning out. I always see kids walking by our main sign after school and hanging out by the main wall to get shade. I'm sure they are the ones who are kicking them over and breaking them. If we put lights on top of the wall, I'm not so sure the kids wouldn't break them too?

Alert | too bad we cant have paint filled sprinklers in the ground and when they break a light the spinklers spray lead based paint on them.
at the very least cant we have the lights repositioned or get a cop to drive by and harass them for loitering and smoking and breaking stuff. make the parents take time off from work to pick them up from jail. that would wake the parents up to what there vandal kids are doing. | | Money isn't everything. Alert | | The lead based paint idea is a good one but I doubt it would get approved through the HOA. I think the kids would break the lights no matter where they were repositioned. Maybe we need to build steel cages around the lights so kids can't step on or kick them (since the lights are on the ground).

Alert | | Lead paint is a good idea, although I don't think it would work all that well. I have different type of lead in mind that would fix the problem for good..... | | Welfare's purpose should be to eliminate, as far as possible, the need for its own existence.

Alert | how about paint that even ajax wont take off. that way you can identify them 5 days later when they are hanging around the sign
but seriously what would be done to kids even if they were caught vandalizing stuff. a slap on the wrist and thats it? | | Money isn't everything. Everyone just thinks it is...

Alert | I went for a motorcycle ride last night at about 10:30pm and saw 5 late teens all wearing their hip hop clothing (looks like night gowns to me) at the north entrance to the new Senita. I pulled over next to them and asked if they lived in the community 2 of them said they did so I just asked them to help keep an eye out for trouble makers in the neighborhood. I also told them that my buddies and I are going to be riding around late at night looking for punks. They could have been lying to me, but at least they know that someone in the community isn't going to put up with vandalism and robberies. If their parents aren't going to do anything step up and be a citizen of your community, protect what's yours, if you see something that doesn't look right don't be afraid. Who cares if thses kids feel like they are being harrassed, word will spread and it will be known that the new Senita is a place where neighbors look out for trouble.
