Posted By chevyguy on 03/31/2008 4:35 PM Ok well let me ask another question...don't all NEW communities have to pay the Orbitel fee? I did agree to it at the time because I thought I was backed into a corner. I didn't know there were other communities that didn't pay Orbitel. If they all do pay then where was my choice? If your telling me my choice was to pay Orbitel or choose another City then your talking nonsensical. I received a great deal on my very first house. My wife and I couldn't be happier. Who ever heard of putting up with crap just becasue thats how it is. I was told basic cable was FREE. FREE doesn't equal $15.27. Don't confuse my problem. I'm fine with $62 a month. But not fine with paying for something and getting nothing. Oh well...I still love Copa & Senita. For someone who doesn't watch much TV and loves to read, it hits a nerve. I only have basic channels because I don't watch TV. Has nothing to do with income. Wrong or right...that's my story and I'm sticking to it. lol.
All the new communities in Maricopa either have Orbital or Maricopa Broadband required and included with the HOA fees. That should have been explained when you accepted and signed for your CC&R documents. If I were told I got free cable (and I had not read my docs where it explains it), I'd be pissed too. What I'm saying is that if you (nobody specific) can not handle the bylaws/CC&Rs as they are initially presented prior to purchasing your home, you have no business complaining about it afterwards (unless something changes later). I was told and read in my docs that I would be paying for Orbitel Basic Cable from my HOA fees (and why). I was told and read that each owner (not tenant) has the responsibility to adhere to the CC&Rs (I say owner because the fines will go to him/her).
And chevyguy....where are you paying for something and getting nothing? You lost me there. I just did some research on Qwest TV/Internet and DirecTV. If you work the sales folks, you can get a great package..even while paying your HOA fees. Sorry, I just can't find the love and sympathy for anybody whining about something that was disclosed prior to closing (either verbally, or in the documents). I mean who does not read everything that involves one of the biggest purchases of your life. |
