Hi -

I live over in Maricopa Meadows. I just want to comment on the fabulous, lush green grass and well-kept landscaping areas you folks in Alterra have! It just looks fantastic, and I am wondering who your landscape company is? Do you all pay an outrageous HOA fee in order to have such great-looking common areas?(It might be worth it these days to help keep property values up . . . .  : > ) ) And who is your HOA management company?

Thanks!

Linda

Remember that lush green grass costs a bunch of monies.  The landscape companies does what the board directions them to do.

You have to water it ALOT to keep the grasses green.   Most of the HOA's that are newer haven't gotten the monies that the older communities receive since they are built out and occupied.

Unfortunately times are rough and with the foreclosure rates higher than ever there will be tough decision that have to be made.  And they always won't please everyone.

I would talk to your board and see what they have to say.  Before jumping the gun take a look at the financials and you'll have a better idea of what is going on.

The problem at MM is our Landscaping Co. who took over last May have done a horrible job. I guess our Board Memebers are blind with our common areas. Our community is a mess, and I am sad to say I regret moving here.

Is Alterra's HOA builder controlled, or is it controlled by the community?

"I believe it is because of Parvo that we do not have lush green lawns in Maricopa Meadows and that is no fault of our Landscaping Co."

SMILING CHICK-per your withdrawn posting.

It's obvious you don't know the entire story regarding the Parvo outbreak and the use of the park by outsiders. You attack us, but I don't believe you understand or know which parties  are responsible for this mess.

By the way, I walk everyday and I enjoy the fresh air, but looking at our common areas and once beautiful park, It's very sad. I can't believe that the Landscaping Co didn't have any thing to do with it's demise. I think it was a combination of both.

Move along people...this area is only for ALTERRA residents to bicker with each other...take it back to your own neighborhood!

(The landscaping here is done by Four Peaks, and the grass doesn't cost $275K.)

just take a look at the annual expenses for the association, if you don't have one, request one and see for yourself

what a luxury.......green grass

if you want grass...grow it in your back yard

I would rather have the common areas look nice and green, and pay for it then to have it look like crap and still have to pay for it like the other neighborhoods.

.....or maybe we could put down gravel and then pain the rocks green like they do in sine if the retirement communities...
Nah I will stick paying for grass.
