At one point in time, you could ONLY park in the street if you had both driveway spots occupied. I used to get letters from the association if cars were in the street. However, I don't think the association even bothers anymore. While I think it's convenient to be able to park in the street, it is an eyesore and hazard when the street is lined with cars.

Per our CC&R's: Page 11 Parking in the front or side yard of any Lot or on unpaved surfaces is prohibited. Occasional overflow parking in a street right of way for guests or other reasonable purposes is permitted, providing that no inconvenience is imposed on the Owners or Residents of other lots for a period not ot exceed 24 hrs.....

No one has come up with an answer to how parking a car on the street is a hazard. I grew up where there were cars always parked on the street and never saw a problem from that. Also how is it an eyesore? If parking a car on the street is an eyesore then parking the same car on the driveway is also an eyesore. Why don't the HOA's state that all cars and trucks have to be parked in a garage? The scope of HOA's need to be directed at the property that the HOA's own and not what they don't own, ei public streets and homes that they don't own. I think it is stupid that they think they can tell you what color drapes you can put in your house.

No one has come up with an answer to how parking a car on the street is a hazard. I answered you in the RED thread as well... Ask the people who lost there home due to a fire in Acacia Crossings (IIRC) a year or so ago.. their home was leveled because the fire truck could not get through in time.. Why?
