Alert | So my house was robbed last Christmas day, the week after I moved into this community. My neighbor across the streets house was apparently just robbed a week or two ago as well. In my case, they came in through my back gate which was unlocked at the time, broke my back window, and then stole tons of stuff at their liesure. I've since gotten an alarm. They police found bicyle tracks in my back yard suggesting it was juveniles who robbed me. My neighbor down the street said that they had been vandelized. My mailbox recently had dark marker (or paint) graffiti all over it.
I seriously suggest a block watch of some kind. I have a habbit of driving through my community on the way home to look for anything suspicious. Has anyone else had problems with hoodlums?
The other day some guy in a car stopped in the middle of the street, in front of my home, and tried to pick me up/hit on me. "Hey babygirl...Come over here." I mean you can try that in the supermarket maybe, but in front of my home?? At night???
What is up with this neighborhood? I lived in Acacia Crossing for 2 years and never had any issues. I mean, this house would be worth $500k-$600k in Chandler. We need to focus on keeping our neighborhood safe if we want property values to rise.
It also seems like the street lights are really dim in front of the houses.

Alert | Hi Dena,
Sorry to hear about your experience - that is horrible!
We DO have a Neighborhood Block Watch in Maricopa Meadows! Contact Ken at mmblockwatch@gmail.com . We meet once a month on the second Thursday at 7 PM - we rotate the location at each other's homes. If you cannot attend a meeting, contact Ken anyway and he will give you some information about Block Watch to help you keep an eye out in your own neighborhood!
What subdivision/builder neighborhood do you live in Dena? We did hear about a break-in in Pinnacle Courtland earlier this month - is that where you live?
Also, we will soon be getting a Sheriff's Office Bicycle Patrol coming through Maricopa Meadows. The community has been donating to raise funds for two bikes that they will use to patrol our development - a similar program is in effect already in the Villages at Rancho. We just reached our goal this past weekend at the Crafts Bazaar and the bikes have been ordered for our community!
I agree that the vandalism and crime is getting worse - they seem to move from one area to another. Join the Block Watch - get to know your neighbors (if you have any), and keep an eye out for each other!

Alert | Yes the Pinnacle. Courtland.
I still wonder about the parents of the kids coming home on Christmas with all those laptops, dvd players, and cameras I had at the time. "Hey mom I found these in the middle of the street."
I mean these are our neighbors. Really nice. Maybe the joke about moving to the wrong side of the tracks is true in this case?

Alert | | Denna, do you have a large dog? If not, I would suggest one to keep the scum from wanting to go in your backyard. I have a large dog that is the nicest dog you would ever meet, but most burglars would think twice before coming through my gate. My home alarm is my second line of defense.

Alert | I SAW AND SPOKE WITH SOME POLICE OFFICERS PATROLLING ON BICYCLES ABOUT A MONTH OR SO AGO, BUT I HAVE NOT SEEN ANY SINCE. IT WILL BE NICE WHEN THEY ARE OUT PATROLLING ON A REGULAR BASIS. WE ALL JUST NEED TO KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR EACH OTHER AND THEIR PROPERTY. I HOPE SOMEONE TRIES TO COME IN MY BACKYARD OR IN MY HOUSE, THEY WILL HAVE A BIG SURPRISE WAITING FOR THEM........

Alert | | Lets everyone look out for each other this Christmas. This is when the thieves prey on people. Look for kids on bicycles going into back yards where they don't belong. Look for wall jumpers or strangers. The people who robbed my home came back several times. They had obviously made multiple trips. 2 laptops, 200 CD's, 50 DVD's, DVD players. jewelry, etc...

Alert | | Back in August our doorbell rang at 2 in the morning and my husband answered it only to find a young man (mid-late teens) standing at our door with a knife. He slammed the door closed, locked it and call the police. They drove through the area and brought a teen to our door for my hubby to ID, but it was not the person that was at our door. No one was ever found and arrested. I am relatively certain that they live here in meadows because they ran on foot and the poilce got here very quickly. It is a sad state for such a nice neighborhood... apparently tresspassing and theft is acceptable for some who live here.
