We are looking at pianos and realizing that we have no idea on the cost of family lessons, good bargains on slightly used grands, and not sure if we should purchase one, gut it out, and drop in an electric piano, or just buy one that way. The ones I have seen so far, mostly online, are pricey; 5k to 10k and up for one to put in the living room. Any input will be nice on all or part of the journey, thank you.

We have an electric piano that looks like a small grand and it's fun. My kids love that we can record their music, sing karoeke with a mic plugged into the piano and change the sound of it from piano to organ or other instruments. There is also the benefits of background music and beats. We are not a big musical family...I know no music so I don't know the pro's and cons, but that has been my experience.

I pay $80/month for my sons piano lessons and she gives a discount for each kid after that. I have 2 that play and it's so fun to hear music through the house.

Good luck...I hoped that helped a little.

Changing lives one diaper at a time since 1993.
