Anyone else having a hard time getting KB to do repairs? KB said that they would do repairs on our home up to one year. We have two big sink holes in the front yard, our garage opener broke, electrical problems, etc. They are not responding to our calls. I am not happy with this builder.

I didn't build with KB, but I had similar problems with Fulton. Our Driveway was cracking and lifting from the house foundation and the sidewalk. We asked for it to be fixed. You know what they said? (this is funny). They actually blamed US for the problem. They said our truck (a GMC 4 door, diesel 4x4) was causing damage to the driveway. We went round and round with them for MONTHS to get a new driveway poured. I mean, if our truck was too heavy, wouldn't that mean that our driveway would be sinking, not raising up? shesh.

Good luck. Most builders aren't all about customer service these days, they just want to sell the houses.

If you can't spot the loser, it might be you

You get what you pay for.

Theres a reason why smaller homes cost more in other sub-divisions, by other builders.

KB = Cheap materials, cheap labor, cheap design, cheap customer service. Large margins!

Homes all complimented with lovely community tot lots and/or pools!

Err... what about the actual house?

Have not had issues yet with getting repairs done but have noticed it takes two calls to get a response. Once contact is made they have been really quick.

Must be nice to be stinkin' rich huh buddy?

Anyway.

We hade a few things fixed when we moved in and those were done promptly. I'm hoping that when it comes to any major stuff as our first year comes to a close it will be the same. Are you calling Rob? Is that who everyone has to call. He's got NO personality. lol It does seem to take a couple calls with him, but once you're on him it's usually done within a matter of days (at least for us). If you can't get a response from who you're calling start calling all the old people you used to talk to in the buying process. Go in and complain to the sales people. Call your Super. I know I would. If that doesn't work then go over their heads. Also, keep track of any contact you try to make. Godforbid your year is up and they FINALLY call you .... and refuse to fix it since it's "too late" to do so.

I honestly haven't had any issues with KB though, so I'm hoping you'll be able to get the help you need!

Hi, I hope you were able to get your repairs done. We've been in our home for about a year and just now had pre-move in repairs finished...oh, except they found out that they built our sidewalk on our neighbors property and gave about a foot of our backyard to the other neighbor...so now they have to re-do both our sidewalk and wall. Wonder how long that will take. We have yet to have one good experience with KB.

Unhappy doesn't even start to explain our feelings towards KB. We will NEVER buy a home from them again and tell everyone about our horrible experience. I think your best bet is to get an inspector, so you have everything documented. Then they'll have to fix everything, no matter how long it takes. We used Shannon Amos from National Property Inspections pre- move in and at the one year. He did an awesome job. I hope you get everything resolved!

I definitely agree with getting an inspection. We are in the KB homes in MM and had to fight tooth and nail to get any repairs done to our home. I wish we would have sucked it up and paid the $300 or so for an inspection just so we could have any problems documented by a third party. We have been in our home for almost 2 years now and have begun to worry about the safety of our electric system which we'll need to get someone out to look at as well....

Maybe we are just lucky but after they switched the KB Field rep 4 times, we have had everything done, usually in 1 call.
