Alert | Does anyone hear a humming sound at night? Like the sound of a generator or a large truck running? I have heard it every night for a couple of months...it goes all night long and keeps me from falling asleep (which, with a newborn, is a BIG problem). I have had multiple headaches from the constant sound and it's really driving me nuts. My husband and I have tried to locate where it's coming from but we can't figure it out....and it's starting to last into the morning now, too. Does anyone else hear this or know what it is? It's not a neighbor's AC because it never stops....so unless my neighbor keeps their air turned down to like 50 degrees it has to be something else....does anyone in our neighborhood run a generator at night or drive a semi that runs off of a generator or something???? I can't figure it out and the lack of sleep is really taking its toll on me. I thought I was crazy until my husband confirmed that he heard it too. Also, there is someone either in Juniper or Sage that owns a crotch rocket and thinks it is appropriate to rev the engine and race it down Bowlin at 10:30 at night....whomever you are, please stop. You are much louder than I think you realize....and really quite obnoxious. If you want to race go to a race track. I am really not trying to be nit-picky or rude, but between the crotch rocket and dirt bikes that we have racing up and down the streets my neighborly patience has run out.

Alert | I haven't heard a humming sound but if you live in Sage it might be something with the Fire Department right there. Other than that, I have no clue.
As far as the crotch rockets go. I am so glad we are not the only ones who are irritated with it. I am to the point of calling the police and having them come sit out and listen. Either that or get my camcorder and tape the rider/riders as they go by. It is very rude and extremely loud. I can't believe how inconsiderate some people are. | | Proud Momma of 2 beautiful boys!!!

Alert | I don't know about the humming either. Maybe it's the flies gathering for another attack.
I agree that the crotch rockets need to take it easy (and any other cars with loud exhaust...), when they're around the houses. I'm all for having fun with your vehicles, but please have some respect for your neighbors. Take it somewhere else. There are a lot of little babies that you are waking up... day and night.
There are a group of three motorcycles that run up and down Bowlin. At least one of them lives in Juniper. One of them popped a wheelie RIGHT BEHIND my car, going 45 down Bowlin, and darn near hit it. Next time you do something that stupid, I'm calling you in. Maybe we should start videotaping. At least we'd have some proof to show the police.

Alert | Thank goodness we're not the only people sick of listening to people and their vehicles!! If it's not loud exhaust it's base or someone reving their engines or someone racing...it is beyond just having fun. Pretty much every time I drive down Bowlin at night someone comes flying past me going God only knows how fast since I'm usually doing the speed limit. Most of the time I see them go into Juniper...but I know there are people on the street behind us with dirt bikes and they love to play with them early in the morning....NOT EVERYONE GETS UP EARLY! Some of us enjoy sleeping in on the weekends and holidays!!
Yeah, I have no idea what the humming sound is. I thought about the fire department. It didn't start until like 2 a.m. last night but went well into the morning. I have no freaking idea what it is but it's driving me nuts. I wish I was a heavier sleeper!!

Alert | I don't think its a crotch rocket you are hearing. I am pretty sure it is my neighbor, he has a car with a really loud exhaust and he for whatever reason pulls in and out of his garage at night time every night late at night and does it several times. It is really loud when you live next door to him.

Alert | oh no, this is definitely a crotch rocket. I've heard the cars, too though....that's usually who goes flying past me on Bowlin....In fact, I think it is frequently a loud blue car (it's actually a very pretty color of blue ) and they always go into Juniper.
I don't think I live by you BMW...aren't you in Juniper? I'm in Sage off of Tamara Ln. I guess I don't understand why it's necessary for people to have cars that loud...do they honestly think it doesn't disrupt the lives (and sleep schedules) of the people around them?? I've yelled at my dad plenty of times for his stupid Harley...you can hear him coming half a mile away. I apologize in advance if he ever comes to visit with the motorcycle...that sucker is loud.
Hey, do any of you know if the HOA has a policy against parking on the street?? We have a neighbor who parks 3 large trucks (two dodge rams and a full size chevy) on the street, none of which are really even front of their property...I don't want to be the pain in the a$$ neighbor who nags about it, but they have one mini-van in their garage and nothing in the driveway. Two of the trucks are behind mine and my neighbor's driveway and one is in front of the neighbors yard (but I kinda think nobody knows who owns which part of each yard). When this started all of a sudden everyone in the neighborhood started parking on the street! I mean, I'm cool with it for visitors or special circumstances, but not everyday in front of somebody else's house!

Alert | | Yeah we live in Juniper. We have people over here parking on the sidewalk. As far as parking on the street, there is a rule in the HOA rule book but I don't think it is enforced (but which rules are anyway). I don't understand why people park on the street when they have drivewaysand garages. I understand that some people use their garages as storage (which is perfectly fine with me) but what is wrong with your driveway? Maybe someone who parks in the street can explain that to me.You can PM me so no one else will know who you are!!! | | Proud Momma of 2 beautiful boys!!!

Alert | I'm only guessing, but a crappy car leaking oil on the street is not a problem for the owner, but a crappy car leaking oil in the driveway will be the loss of a security deposit. Unless the residents actually own the property, then oil in the driveway becomes a pain in the a$$ to clean up. They could do something really bizzare and get their car fixed. Nah, easier to park in the street. | | Not all left handed people are smart, but all smart people are left handed.

Alert | hahaha...while the trucks by our house aren't necessarily in the best shape, I don't think they're leaking. We park in our driveway because our garage has my husbands jeep and a bunch of junk in it...but occasionally we'll park in the street if we notice someone else's vehicle parking in front of our house repeatedly...guess we're a little territorial I just don't like having someone else's vehicle in front of my yard and/or driveway all the time!!
I'm kinda glad that the HOA isn't on super patrol...if you're cruising Sage our house would be the one with the tree fallen down over the sidewalk Hubby can't fix it until tomorrow. It will be interesting to see if we get a notice about it...we got a notice for ONE weed on our sideyard! It wasn't even a big weed! How they saw the stupid thing from the street is beyond me!

Alert | Sorry for double posting, but this is a copy of a post I had on another thread. It almost seems more appropriate here. Copy Starts: I would guess that your lost cat sign was a victim of your neighborhood vigilante enforcing the law of not putting flyers on the mailboxes. This person, much like the vigilante known as The Batman, has a secret identity. In their mild manner guise as friendly neighbor, they will look you straight in the eye and smile while they have your crumpled up lost kitty posters in their pocket, a copy of the CC&R's under one arm and clipboard in hand secretly making notes of landscape and parking violations. Beware of the HOA VIGILANTE!!! :Copy Ends | | Not all left handed people are smart, but all smart people are left handed.

Alert | NAWOR..I love your quote/saying. I am left handed too!!!
aylssald...one small weed on your side yard got you a notice. I am sure the house 3 houses down have gotten notices (they don't seem to care though) has a weed as tall as their tree. It is pretty interesting to look at!! I should get a picture!! | | Proud Momma of 2 beautiful boys!!!

Alert | Thanks BMW. It is a Nawor original quote. I'm starting a collection of them and hope to publish one day. I'm well on my way. If I get one more, I'll have a total of two. | | Not all left handed people are smart, but all smart people are left handed.

Also I have to come clean I do play my music kinda loud in my car when out side working on the yard and other stuff like that But know that I hear that it is a problem I will keep it down.

Alert | | JKirk..I, personally, don't mind if people are working outside and listening to music. What bothers me are the people who are sitting in their car, driving down the road and everyone can hear their music. Seriously, are people that deaf that they can't hear the radio, with their windows rolled up or cracked, while sitting right there? When I am laying in bed watching TV and can hear someones music as they drive by, that is a little extreme!! | | Proud Momma of 2 beautiful boys!!!

Alert | | I spoke to the homeowner where the trucks park over a month ago and they said that they wont be there much longer. Well, that was over a month ago so I guess they dont care. I need to take a copy of the HOA rules and put it on their trucks, or we could box them in! I wish I had the HOA's email to complain.

Alert | They used to park right behind our driveway and I couldn't even back out so we started parking on the street...I think that kind of made them realize that they were in our way so they moved a smidge...just enough that I could back out, but they still have three large trucks not even parked in front of their own property! I feel bad for the lady who just moved in next door because they're parked in front of her yard...welcome home, here's a nice view of a Dodge Ram! WooHoo! My hubby said he was going to go say something, but never did...we're not really in the position to complain seeing as how we have a tree laying on the sidewalk For anyone annoyed with that, it will be fixed by this weekend! We had something unexpected and unavoidable come up this past weekend or it would've been fixed then.
lazydoubleA--maybe we should go over together. They're really nice people and I don't want to make them feel bad, but it is somewhat ridiculous. They could at least park one of them in the driveway or something. Sticking the HOA rules on the windshields might make them realize that people really are bothered by it though...
I still hear the humming sound...one of these nights I'll get some energy and go investigate!!! I don't know what it is. I thought about the power lines, but I don't hear it 24/7...it seems to be starting later at night now but lasting later into the morning.
JKirk, I don't care about people listening to music when they work outside....as long as it's after like 8 a.m....even then, I know it's hot outside so I won't complain even if I hear it really early (as long as it's after 6). I'm more concerned with people who think that the entire neighborhood should be wide awake at midnight every night or should be wide awake early on the weekends....I'm up every two hours feeding a baby and like to sleep in whenever possible!! The last thing I want is to have dirt bikes as my alarm clock.

Alert | Ok, I heard it, or something like it this morning. I got up around 5:15, thought my cable box was making noise, not that. I went outside and heard a sound, possibly coming from the 2 stories. Almost sounded like a machine of some kind??? Not sure.
