I know when I bought my home, my Sales guy stated they had land for a prospective school, yet nothing was set in stone. He explained where the money for the school would come from, but I can not recall the details. I am not sure if it's still in plan because of the economy, but I know it was mentioned to me in December. It sure would be nice, but I am still a little frustrated with the flood zone circumstance that I don't really trust what they tell me. (to once have was foolish of me anyway)

I am unable to log into our HOA website, so I'm not sure!

We stopped in and talked to the people at the sales office about it. The sign says that it's a school site, but they said that it's also being looked at for possibly being some kind of recreational/sports location (they mentioned and ice rink, but I doubt that).

I'd love to see a middle school in here. I think that it'd be perfect. You have the Glenwilde school a mile away from the youngest kids, and then the middle school right outside our door. That's assuming the kids stop being morons like it seems some of the ones at Maricopa Wells are. *rolleyes* Still not sure I want my kid doing anything past elementary down here.... don't know that I really have a choice though. :o(

I agree, I would like to see another middle school in here especially due to the fact we will have an elementary school down on Porter. As long as the havoc stays to a minimum it should be alright.

No kidding, right? I don't need crappy little druggie kids whose parents don't pay attention hanging outside my front door. That would suck. But, my husband is a sheriff's officer, so I'm sure he'd scare them away pretty quickly! HA!

That would be so wonderful. I could try to teach there and walk to work, and not have to drive into Chandler everyday.

That area is zoned for a school, but that doesn't mean a school will be going in there. IF-and that's a big IF--they do build a school there it won't be for some time. Maricopa didn't grow as expected and as of right now there are not plans to build more schools. I have actually talked to teachers and people in the district about this.

I'll be optimistic about this one!

I'm betting it'll be 1-2 years before they build on the site. Just a guess though. I really don't think they'll start building there until that other phase opens. And I don't think that other phase will open until they build the rest of the homes here and then they have to build the NEW models over there (because it looks like they might build the other section with a whole new line of floorplans). I figure in a year or two things will start picking back up. The city will have more to offer and I think people will start to feel good about buying here again. At least I hope so!
