Alert | I agree with you luv - I read a post on here before regarding section 8 and for one reason or another it was pulled off. I can give you the names of the utility companies, and maybe you can google them. I know here in Maricopa you could probably find a great place to rent for about 700 - 850 per month.
-water - Santa Cruz Water company or Global water (they're one in the same) -phone/cable/internet - I use Orbitel, but I think Qwest is also out here -Trash - Waste Management -Electric - Electrical District No. 3
Best of luck to you and don't let people offend you and get you down!

Alert | I wish you well in your search. I know this is hard putting yourself out here like this so don't worrry about the crap people say.
Just treat the neighborhood like you own the house and people will see Section 8 users differently.
Good luck... do a search on Craiglist or azcentral.com for rentals that take section 8. Also look at the gov website for AZ. | | Just doing it one day at a time. Change is good and it should be looked upon as an improvment! not a problem. ______________________________________ *************************************** San Diego Super Chargers! GO!!! Alert | | You can't afford it. Half the people who live here can't afford it. The utilities are through the roof, at least 400/month total and you'll need at least that in gas money for your car 'cause there's no jobs so at least 40 mile commute. DON'T DO IT!!!!!!

There you go with the illegals, you just can't give it a break... Here's some info for you.... Myth: Undocumented immigrants drain the welfare system. Fact: Undocumented immigrants are ineligible for the vast majority of state and federal benefits and are only eligible for those that are considered important to public health and safety. In fact, many legal immigrants are also ineligible for most federal benefits. As a result, health care spending for immigrants is approximately half that of citizens.

Alert | Keonda, Excerpt from from your post " As a result, health care spending for immigrants is approximately half that of citizens."
These folks are here illegally, guilty of breaking our laws. The only money I'm obligated to spend is whatever it takes to get them arrested, convicted, sentenced and then deported after they have served their sentence.
That's exactly what they would do to me if I were in their country under the same circumstances.

agree with the message, although it could have been worded a little better.
personally monthly i pay:
$895 - rent $80 - water/sewer $350 - summer electric bill (when it works <img src='http://www.85239.com/desktopmodules/ntforums/images/emoticons/rolleyes.gif' height='20' width='20' border='0' title='Rolled Eyes' align='absmiddle'> ) $25 - summer gas bill $10 - trash removal $25 - insurance i haven't lived in copa for a winter yet, so i can't give you those bills.
the grocery stores in maricopa are 2 to 3 times more expensive than those in chandler/gilbert on some items. there are no department stores. i'm one of the few local ones that is lucky enough to have a short commute, and a short commute for copa is 15 miles one way.
i thought i was going to save a little money moving to copa, but i would have been better off financially paying a little more in rent to stay in chandler/gilbert. but i enjoy the silent neighborhood, seeing the stars and very very little crime, so i'll probably be here until my fiance is done with college and we move out of the desert... | | Follow your bliss. I have to agree with you! I love it out here, but it is breaking us. Yes, partially our fault, I stay home, I'd rather work, but I can't find a job here.
We moved out here paying more for a house to rent than we did, but it's also much bigger. BUT, our bills are so stinkin' high that we really have just dug ourselves into a really deep hole! I too have only lived here since the summer and I hope to god my electric bill drops soon otherwise, it may get really cold in my house.
