Is Glennwilde getting recycling services? I saw the guy putting green trash cans with blue lids down the street today...too lazy to call Waste Mgt.

Yes, and not that I have anything against recycling, but I think we should have had had the option to recycle, instead of here is your bin and BTW your bill is going to go up because you are now going to recycle. I remember when if you wanted to recycle -you got paid to do it--bring your recyclables to a recycling center and get pennies-- granted it wasnt much--but it was a choice.

Being forced to recycle and losing a garbage pickup day doesn't sit well with me, going to see if Maricopa Disposal or whatever the other company is offers straight garbage pickup for our area.

What really makes me mad is we cannot use the recycle for yard clippings, which makes up the majority of my garbage at this point and taking me down to once a week makes for a stinky side yard...

I'm not to pleased to be losing 1 trash day when we move to Glennwilde. We fill up our trash usually both days, not even to mention storing 2 trash cans. Hard enought to store the 1 can in the garage now.

Yeah, I wasn't aware recycling meant losing onw of our trash days...

So now we pay and extra couple bucks a month for the same amount of trash days...interesting.

I'm happy we have recycling! I don't mind doing my part, helping the world "clean up". It's only 2 dollars extra. Come on, chill out.

It's not about the money, it's about the fact they allow me less trash per month but charge me more. Do you really think they're not going to find all kinds of stuff in my recycle bin?

When I was living in Ahwatukee, it was one day a week for garbage and one day a week for recycles. I think people just got spoiled. Maybe you should be considerate and not dump non recyclables in the recycle can. It's a way to help the environment, even if it doesn't seem like it matters to anyone else.

Maybe they (Waste Mgt) should have been considerate and asked me if I preferred two trash days each week or one trash and one recycling. I'm sure a lot of people feel the same way, especially those with larger families, even if they won't come out and say it.

I think this is a good thing. Bstone, if you think about it, Water jugs, milk jugs, and soda/beer boxes use up most of the normal space in your trash bin. Witht he recycle bin all of that will be picked up on a different day. So essentialy now you just have to sort your trash instead of throw it all in one bin. A little extra work for the environment? Also I thought you guys left Senita for Cobblestone not Glennwilde. I know you have complained plenty about crappy neighbors over in Senita so I am sure you keep your place nice, good to have you here in Glennwilde.

I agree-I wanted a choice! And while we are talking of how it was when we lived elsewhere---when I lived in Austin-we had 2 bins, for 1x a week, and had the OPTION to recycle ( again they charged extra!) and trash service for 2 bins was a little less than it is here. But I chose not to recycle b/c its a pain, and I dont care to pay more for something I dont want to do ----not that Im against recycling.

I don't mind the recycling, but I know how much trash we go through each week and I'm not sure if enough of our trash would be recycled. We'll know in a couple weeks.

We were supposed to move to Cobblestone, it's a long story, but we ended up in Glennwilde.

I was paying $3.00/mo with Maricopa Recyclying. You can order more recycling or garbage bins. When I was in Ahwatukee I had 2 recycling bins and only had to pay for 1.

I believe the total bill from Waste Management is $12.50 per month. This should include garbage and recycling.
