We live really close to the corner of Porter and Allen Stephens Pky. Pretty south in Maricopa. We love it here. It is quiet and open.

My wife and I are very adaptable couple; we tolerate the cow smell and the train that is, after all, no that bad. By the way, we all knew they were here when we bough hour hose.

But these increasing waves of “flies” are getting on to our nerves. If we accidentally open one window for 3 minutes we have 20+ huge flies on the house.

I know where they are coming from and I believe they mush be breaking some rules or something.

What do you guys know or think about this?

I don't know if you read the previous thread on the wretched flies, but I have 2 words for you: Zapper Racquet...I hear you can get it at Ace.

That's where we live.
I haven't noticed tons of flies but when I do my dog hunts them down....we call him the bug hunter.

The flies are beastly. they are everywhere. Went to the pool today and there had to be at least 200 of them at the pool. Same with you at home. if i open the back patio door a few times, I'm swatting flies in the house the rest of night. I would love to utiize our back patio for cooking/ eating but good night there is no way we could do that wth those flies. Its getting to point where i dont want to invite any friends that dont live in Copa to dinner. Cow stench and flies. Really embarressing.

Hubby and I went to Wal-Mart Supercenter out in Mesa and bought fly motels and fogging spray for the grass (where they seem to love to hang out). They also have these clear sticky strips that stick to your windows and are easily removed when full. We live off Bowlin and White & Parker in the KB Homes and it is horrible out here too. But we have drastically decreased the amount we have by using these items.

I can second that. The cow smell was here when we bought the house. (Well... we didn't noticed wile visiting and sining). But the flies are a new addition to the same problem. Were you have people living close to an industry that is not designed to be this close to houses etc.

Does anybody know if there is any law that regulates these cow establishments? How can we determinate if they are crossing the line on hygiene or waist management, etc?

The flies are a lot worse this year then ever before. Many believe it is due to our trash only being collected one time per week. This once per week method of trash collection enables flies to multiply expnonentially thereby causing the fly outbreak that we are all living with. Collect your trash two times per week and see the fly problem reduce ten fold.

I live at Porter and Alan Stephens as well....we've had the same problem with the flies.  Anyone know what the cause is?  They haven't been too bad in the past couple weeks, but this could be due to the spider problem now.  We have 5 black widows outside my front door.  Is anyone else having this problem as well?
