Has anyone seen the graffiti on the garage door on the west end of Balboa Drive?? This does not make me feel very secure about this neighborhood.  Does anyone know when this happened, we just noticed it this morning?  I heard something about a car being painted as well, but I do not have any details, does anyone know anything about this?

There was a home invasion in your neighborhood too. They tied the people up and everything. The police are too busy giving speeding tickets to worry about keeping neighborhoods safe and free from graffiti.

Do you know where this home invasion was? Just curious if it was near where I live.  Do you have any other details on what happened with that?

The Home invasion happened a long time ago under the Sherriffs watch.  Where exactly on Balboa did you see it?  We can get the HOA to look into it in case it's not occupied.

The graffiti was written across the garage door of a house on the north side of the street (west end of Balboa Drive) - basically where Balboa Drive and Gatun Rd. come together.  My neighbor told us about a car that had been painted up apparently around the same time this graffiti showed up.  I don't really have any details, just thought maybe someone else might.

oh, and the house may be unoccupied.  Not sure, but basically we never see people around anymore.  But there is no for sale sign....again, I'm not really sure.

Thanks.  Was this over the weekend or before that?

We noticed it this morning; but our neighbor said it happened Sat night.  That is really all I know about it.  It just sucks that individuals get away with this type of behavior......and that homeowners have to pay money to fix their garage/cars etc.

We have AAM looking to the status of the property owner.  They will be in the neighborhood today so they wil check it out.  We are also going to have MPD look into it.  They are setting up a repository of grafittii so they can start developing leads on who is responsible.  Fr instance they have a good lead on the tagger that first hit the wall behind Teakwoods.

Thanks, I appreciate you contacting them.  I spoke to one of my neighbors last night and they did confirm that the house is currently unoccupied.  Hopefully they can get it painted over.  Anyway, just wanted to say thanks.

I saw the garage door as well as the wall on the side of the green belt area. I also noticed that someone had pulled up a bunch of the sprinker heads in that area as well. And I wonder if all the dog crap in the grass was left by the taggers???? Naw.........must be the irresponsible pet owners.

This place is going down the tubes fast..............used to take 12-15 years before the blight would set in but not any more.

The police now have documented the tag.  Brian Duncan has contacted the company responsible for the property and they will be painting it soon.

Did everyone notice that there is the same type of graffiti at the playground/ramada to the north?? Same place the public urination took place in the middle of the day.........amazing!!
And the ramada is being destroyed, brick by brick.

Curious as to what the police department does with the info...........anyone know? I have seen a police patrol now and then and I hope they catch the chumps!!

My boyfriend and I took a walk last night and saw all that grafitti at the playground.  We knew about the one on the wall facing the greenbelt and on that garage door (which are both still there by the way).  There are at least 3 or 4 markings on the ground at the playground.   I understand the HOA needs to contact the owner of the house in order for that to be painted, but I don't understand why the HOA hasn't removed the ones in the common areas.

The HOA is in the process with removal of the Grafitti.  I will contact AAM and see where we stand.  The police colects the grafittii as reference for when taggers are caught they can relate them to other crimes.

Regarding the destroyed stonework, a resident witnessed 10 to 11 year olds doing the damage.  They reported it to the HOA not the MPD because they didn't want to get involved.   As a result we are getting bids to remove the stone work and replace with painted stucco.  Sad because the stone did look nice.

It is obvious that the lights in the ramada are needed if they are cauing this kind of reaction from the vandals.

They might as well just leave the concrete and paint it...........stucco will be torn apart as well...........it'll save us, the HOA dues payers, some money.

The light in the ramada is broken out again.

It should be a requirement that parents accompany their children and those that won't, let them destroy their personal property instead of community areas.

Me, I would've called the police. 10 or 11 year old kids destroying things now will only become ???? when they are older.............time for a good scare from the police........kids AND parents.

There are not enough lights in the neighborhoods....this just adds to people being able to commit crimes.  I agree that parents need to be more aware of what their kids are doing.  It is so disappointing that all these kids have nothing better to do than destroy and damage property.

Does anyone know if the police suspect this graffiti on the garage door, common walls, and park area to have been done by kids or by a gang?
