Is there an HOA policy regarding loud pets?

I'm not sure if anyone else is in my area of AC but there is a dog (sounds chihuahua sized) who barks from 5:30am to 10:30pm without fail.

This Sunday morning I was woken up at 6am <img src='http://www.85239.com/desktopmodules/ntforums/images/emoticons/sad.gif' height='20' width='20' border='0' title='Sad' align='absmiddle'> on work days I wake to yipping around 5:30am. The dog sounds way too small to be outside all that time. I haven't seen it, I know it is somewhere within a 5-10 house radius.

It arrived in the neighborhood about 3-4 months ago. Just wanted to see if anyone else was sharing my pain...

It's not the HOA's job to handle noise, that would fall to the city. Contact the city and ask for Brian Duncan. He is Maricopa's code enforcement officer. Good luck.

I had the same situation on Balboa Lane. Next door was two dogs with one chirping away nonstop every morning when they put it out and went to work...Brian took care of it by notifying them of a $500 fine for not controlling dog noice. They then put the dogs in while at work and have since moved. When you let them know that barking equals fine, they usually take care of it. Good luck!<img src='http://www.85239.com/desktopmodules/ntforums/images/emoticons/cool.gif' height='20' width='20' border='0' title='Cool' align='absmiddle'>

Thanks for the responses <img src='http://www.85239.com/desktopmodules/ntforums/images/emoticons/smile.gif' height='20' width='20' border='0' title='Smile' align='absmiddle'>

I am going to call someone on Monday when regular offices are open and see what can be done. I finally pinpointed the house today.

It's been barking for the past hour and no one over there seems to be doing anything about it.

I wish we had more stray cats running around the community, or crows... anything to eat that little dog so it stops torturing me.

Have you talked with the neighbors? I had the same situation and it took awhile but finally got through to them without getting the city involved. Turns out they didn't really know what to do about it and were at a loss. I gave them some options and information on different things they could do. Just another thought you might try.

I wonder if we don't all live in the same area. We have the same issue. Though I am not sure which house it is coming from.

the kids are a lot less noisy than a dog, especially one that barks everytime i take out the trash. i mean we have only been neighbors for 3 yrs now and she still barks everytime *rolls eyes*
