Alert | Re: The question by Copa Conscious and Leesfamily, "What about divorce and infidelity?"
The position of the Roman Catholic church on divorce and remarriage can be summed up in a few sentences: *Divorce was allowed in Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament) times. But the permanence of marriage was restored by Jesus in the first century. *Marriage is a sacrament that is indissoluble. Once a valid marriage has been consummated, it endures until one spouse dies. *The church does not issue divorces or recognize divorces issued by other institutions. *The church can issue an annulment. However, the couple must first prove to a church tribunal that the marriage was invalid. This information is from: www.religioustolerance.org/div_rc.htm

Alert | Posted By Copa Conscious on 10/04/2007 12:31 PM Can I get a sign? A talking burning bush maybe? Or has that been done to death? In the history of "Biblical signs", there are two kinds of people that received "signs & wonders" from God.
1. People that hated God and would not submit for any reason, including the signs & wonders He gave them. Pharaoh is the poster child for this type. These signs were always calamitous in nature.
2. People who were humble and repentant. Basically every person that Jesus healed or ministered to falls into this category. These signs were always beneficial, life saving, etc.
I cannot recall any situation in Scripture where God responded by means of a "sign", to the challenge of a non-believer who was not repentant and humble.
By virtue of your postings and the cute little logo under your avatar, I don't think that God will be giving you a sign any time soon, other than the general revelation through the Bible and Nature itself.
BTW ... I do not say any of this to be condemning or mean, just to give an honest straightforward theological explanation. I have this belief, perhaps naive, that people don't want to "beat around the bush" on topics like this.

Alert | Ok, I will be humbler and repentanter. I look forward to the plagues/calamitous stuff.
There is nothing more I would like than to chat with god.
I have questions.........
Why IS the avocado pit so damn big?
Dear God, almighty, all-powerful, all-loving creator of the universe, we pray to you to cure every case of cancer on this planet tonight. We pray in faith, knowing you will bless us as you describe in Matthew 7:7, Matthew 17:20, Matthew 21:21, Mark 11:24, John 14:12-14, Matthew 18:19 and James 5:15-16. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Copa, since you took this so-called prayer from http://godisimaginary.com/i1.htm, it is clear that you're not sincere in your want to "chat with god". Everything that you've ever posted in these forums makes perfect sense to me now that I know where you getting your ideas from.
You really don't care about the things that you say you do, do you? I really would love for you to, so that we could have a good conversation. Do you really want to walk through the big ideas in that prayer and the scriptures that you think support it, or do you just want to toss it out there like a grenade and run? I'm glad to have a real discussion about it and I'm even willing to fall on the grenade if needed.
Also, what are those "questions" you said that you have in a previous post?

Alert | Posted By Copa Conscious on 10/08/2007 5:00 PM Why IS the avocado pit so damn big? Avocado's are high in fat ... good fats that is. The seed, or pit, is the reason for this. Fatty acid chains are bigger than most because they are so "fat". The little molecular machines that work to produce the avocado are larger than most proteins because they work out lots and take steroids to get bigger. Since these molecular machine proteins are so "buff", the pit of the avocado in necessarily bigger than other seeds.
