Is it darkness? Are you aware of the darkness? Is it heaven? Is it purgatory? What do you all believe?

Well I know what happens to me physically. My body starts to immediately decay. Other than that, I don't really know. Guess I'll find out when it happens.

In my opinion, you take the big dirt nap. At some point in time there will be a rapture or resurrection that takes place. It does say in the Bible that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord and so you will find those who will argue that point but in my mind, when I die, my next conscious moment will be present with the Lord. In other words, if I die right now, I may take the big dirt nap for 20 yeasr and when I am raptured or resurrected, that will be my first moment of consciousness. There will not be that gap from when I died to when I was resurrected. Remember, time is something that we humans use because of our finite life timespan and it is something we can relate to as opposed to a God consciousness of infinity or whatever else our little minds cannot comprehend. I do believe everyone will have to deal with the topic of heaven or hell, heaven for the believers and hell for the non-believers but this opens up a whole new can of worms. There are more doctrinal stances on that topic than you can shake a stick at.

Depends on if you are saved or not.
Saved=Heaven
Not saved=not Heaven

Do you think if I died, I would be able to tell you?
The only answer there is,is wait and find out for yourself.

So what happens for people that die and come back to life?

Beyond your physical body. What happens to your soul? Do you believe there is anything after this?

A "soul" is a made up concept. When I die I will be worm food. I didn't exist before I was born and I will cease to exist when I die.

And Jason, death is not an instantaneous event. It is a process.

When I die my body will go back to the earth from where I came. My soul, I don't know, back to the one that made me.

Will I be judged for what I did in my life, will I live in goodness, or hatefulness. Only the one that maid me can tell me that.

If I thought like that I would have jumped off a bridge already. Doesn't it seem there is more to life than existing then dying? Do you count your life as having no relevance?

Why would you kill yourself if this was the only life you get? Why are religious people generally more afraid of dying than non-religious? Don't you want to meet your Maker sooner, rather than later? Why be afraid of it? Why do you think that your life has no relevance if there isn't an afterlife? There are plenty of nifty people here on earth that you have affected throughout your life.

Your statements don't reconcile. If there is no soul what happens when a person becomes brain dead, and is later revived?

It is the end....when I die. Nothing happens. That is my belief. I don't go to heaven, I don't go to hell, I don't get reincarnated into something else. I die. That is the my answer to the original question. My answer to your spin question is you live. When it is the end, it is the end.

My friend that I told you about, the one who crashed on the ATV...the paramedics saved him, three times. He didn't see light, he didn't see black. He saw nothing and he didn't feel nothing. So, that is what I mean by nothing, it is the end. That is my belief.

My question was not spin and it is still unanswered. If you're saying that when you die there is nothing after it, there is an automatic implication that you are no more than the sum of your body parts. When you are dead, when there is no blood flowing to your brain and there is no brain activity, yet doctors bring you back to life, how can there be no soul? What exactly held "you" while your body was dead? Without brain activity and blood flow, the brain atrophies extremely quickly. Your explanation does not add up, there is something missing.

I would love to believe that upon physical death, my spirit will ascend to Christ. But then, that would mean that the multitudes of people who I have loved and lost would be in Hell because they were not Christians. And that's difficult to accept.

So if I could write it myself, I would have Christians saved by grace ushered into Heaven (because that's a foundation of my faith)and all others judged by the lives they lived. That would be a good compromise for me.
