Alert | Jesus also said, “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God” (Matthew 19:24. Similar verses are in Mark 10:25 and Luke 18:25).
ROMANS 3:23 states: "for ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God."We all know President Clinton is a sinner. However, the Bible teaches that even the Pope of the Roman Catholic church is a sinner. "If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us." | | Ms. Alksnis

Neither of those verses support the idea that everyone is going to heaven. Those verses solidfy Jesus' claim that no one is able to enter heaven of his own accord. All that wish to enter heaven require salvation from Jesus, hence the statement above that all who cry "Lord, Lord" will not enter. Therefore, not everyone will enter. Alert | I'm just throwing out more quotes that say 'everyone is a sinner', so should everyone go to hell? If you are repentant of your sins, you should be forgiven. There may be 'dark' souls who choose to deny and defy God, which may have a different fate than going to heaven. Also, I WAS Catholic, but because I have conflicts with some of the teachings, I am now Protestant | | Ms. Alksnis

Alert | I am a christian and I attend an Assemblies of God Church. In Gods eyes a sin is a sin. To him no sin is worse than the other. If we do not confess our sins to Jesus, Ask for forgiveness, except Christ into our heats and live according to the word of God we will not spend eternity in Heaven with him. Personally it would be hard for me to accept someone like that can make it to heaven but God knows our hearts and if we truely ask for forgiveness, turn from our sinful ways and live our lives according to the word of God he says we have eternal life with him. Ultimately God is the judge of who does or does not make it into Heaven.

Alert | | Won't or can't "effectively argue Protestant views with us". Seems kind of contrary to the purpose of a discussion forum to just stop the discussion in that way.

No, but the Bible is very clear that people need to individually accept Christ to go to heaven. Where's EEE when you need him? | | Joined: Jul 2005

Alert | It is true that everyone is a "sinner", meaning that they have done at least one wrong thing in their life and therefore stand guilty before a perfect God who must in all fairness judge wrong-doing in a "perfect" way. Since God is just as "perfect" in His Justice as He is in His Love, He also provides a way to be excused through faith in His Son Jesus Christ, the only Person who has never sinned and the only Person whose Life is sufficient to conquer death.
So, to answer the question, "should everyone go to hell?" ... YES, of course! Everyone is a sinner; however, everyone also is eligible for salvation through Jesus Christ.

Alert | Jason,
Here is some support to what you were saying.
Acts 2:38-39
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
John 3:5
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Luke 13:21
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Not only does God want you to confess He is our Lord Jesus, he also wants you to build a relationship with him.
Don't forget Repentence is the start, we need to put off the old man and become new in Christ!
God Bless. | | | |

Alert | Posted By ANJ on 07/25/2007 8:43 AM I believe that guilt and shame are a man's hell... our Savior loves each one of us too much to send any of us to hell.. they'll just live hell on Earth in the meantime I'm Christian (raised Catholic)
Can you provide scripture for your definition of hell?
I am especially interested in this comment you made:
our Savior loves each one of us too much to send any of us to hell
Where do you find this doctrine of universal atonement?
How do you explain Romans 9 where it talks about
God showing his wrath to make his power known to the unbeliever and this will also make known the riches of his glory to the believers.
Here are a few descriptions of Hell from the Bible:
"everlasting fire" (Matthew 25:41)
"unquenchable fire" (Matthew 3:12)
a place where "their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched" (Mark 9:44-49)
a place of "torments" and "flame" (Luke 16:23,24)
"everlasting destruction" (2 Thessalonians 1:9)
place of torment with "fire and brimstone" where "the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever" (Revelation 14:10,11)
a "lake of fire and brimstone" where the wicked are "tormented day and night forever and ever" (Revelation 20:10).
| | Yeah, it's true- He allowed the fall of man/ But He used it now to exalt the Lamb/ The Lord, who's wise, permits existence of sin/ to be glorified in His forgiveness to men/ | |
