This is a public forum. I know that. A resteraunt is also a public place. Would you sit down at anyones table and start interrupting their conversation just to say that "it's a public place"? I am only asking that you show a little respect and not interrupt the flow of the conversation. Tha's all. Since you seem to have to complain about such a request, I started your own thread to have a nice long conversation just to complain about me. Go for it. I'll start you off. Posted By AZ Dreaming on 12/19/2007 9:16 PM This is a public forum for anyone to post their thoughts to any thread on it. If you want to answer religious questions for a particular faith, go to your church and setup a discussion group for people with questons. As far as I can see this is just a way for you to expose your religious beliefs to others, hoping that someone will like what they read and try out your church. Almost as bad as having Jehovah Witnesses coming and ringing your doorbell. It is an open forum, and if joe is not LDS, then there are many reference materials available on both sides of the coin, all opinions etc. Shouldn't one consider all the info on LDS, not just what the church puts out? That is why I am happy to get input by PM. My only point is I don't think Joe is trying to get anyone to try out the LDS church As far as someone considering all of the info on ANY given church - I feel it is most wise to get the information from the church. The best way to understand what a church teaches is to ASK THE CHURCH, to best understand what a modern church offers to society as a whole, I would ask the church and possibly read up on informatative (not slanderous or opinion based - you can tell the difference) news articles. I would not ask a Methodist what a Lutheran believes. And I would be willing to bet MOST (notice not a generalization - some may) do not choose a church by looking at info from an outside source. They may choose it for the beliefs, for the clergy, for the music, for the location, for the friends, for the family, for the parking, hopefully they choose it because they cannot fathom choosing any other way, but I have a hard time believing most people choose a church or even RESEARCH a church before joining by looking at the 'other side'. However, as you have said, this is a public board and I really have no opinion on who posts where - I only wanted to point out, whatever Joe's purpose, I doubt it has anything to do with trying to get people to convert to Mormonism. Now please remove your comments from the LDS Discussion threads. Please? |
