We are really thinking of moving back to Maricopa and we had converted to LDS about 1 month ago. Love our new family in the Awhautkee area. But we are trying to find a house to rent so we would have room when we are done with our classes for Foster Children. I know its cheaper over there than over here. But love this area but we are renting a 2 bdrm apt which the owners will not help us to convert to a 3 bdrm. Right now, we are looking for a 3+ rooms. Plus I would like to met anyone out there so we can become a family over there when we do move. We are thinking sometime next month.

Welcome mdann11908...we've been down here in Maricopa for about 2 years...19 months ago we split from 2 wards into 3 wards and a spanish branch. Now we are about to be split once again in within the next couple weeks into possibly a few more wards in addition to what we already have (we have a brand new building that is just about finished).

It's growing fast down here. We love it down here with all our wonderful friends and neighbors. Whichever ward you move into, I'm sure you'll feel welcomed. Introduce yourself to those you see and you'll make some great instant friends.

There are so many new faces every week at church, sometimes it's hard to tell who's new and who's not. With the new ward boundaries being re-drawn I'm sure everyone will have to 'get to know' many of the new faces in their new ward. It's a great time to meet new friends.

We love Maricopa and I'm sure you do too. It's even better with new friendships. Good luck with your classes and your decision to move or not.

We love Maricopa! Our ward is huge, over 800 members, but like dualie2 said, it will be split soon once the new building is done. We've been here almost a year and we really like it. They introduce at least two new families each week in church, so make sure you introduce yourselves to people cause that will be the best way to get to know everyone since there are so many members. You may get here after the split happens, which in that case you may not have as many faces to remember cause every ward will be a lot smaller. Good luck with whatever you decide. This really is a great place to raise kids!
Oh, by the way, we're in Maricopa 2nd ward.

We moved from Gilbert a year ago and we LOVE our ward. We're in Maricopa 1st and, like others have mentioned, because of the growth out here, a new ward will be created sometime soon. As of now. if you live in Cobblestone, parts of Rancho El Dorado, parts of Alterra and parts of Maricopa Meadows, you'll be in the First Ward. Welcome to Maricopa!

I just seen a 6 bdrm home 4 bath 3800 sq. feet. Working with the people with the backyard otherwise its all dirt. I know its going to be tight for us with one income till I get the children. But we have to learn to be on a budget. The house is in the Senita area. I had told my husband we can get help thryu the Church to help us move if needed. Husbnd is 63. Don't want him to break. LOL. I am using my school money to help with the deposit otherwise we dont have it.
So what ward will it be if we move into the Senita area.

Hi, yes that is my ward that you'll be in, Maricopa 2nd! It's a great ward, we love it. Soon though all the wards will be split so your ward could change when that happens. That will happen probably in about a month. Our Elders Quorum helped us move in. They are really great at it cause they do it so often. I sent you a PM with a couple of email addresses for someone you can contact. Just give them a day and what time you think you'll be here and they will meet you there to unload. Welcome!

different areas have different "wards" its basically split up this way because there are so many members, so like myself I just moved to the area where its the 1st ward, wich starts at 8am, and the ward that I was in I just moved from started at 3pm. so different wards start at different times also (i forgot to add) but still all go to the same church building.

To expound on what Jodypag said...Wards are made up of congregations which are divided into meeting times according to the 'boundaries' of the individual wards...or where you live geographically. If you live on the east side of John Wayne Pkwy (most of RED, Villages, Senita), you would most likely be in the 2nd Ward (which meets at 3pm). For those that are in Cobblestone, a bit of RED and a few scattered areas to the south...they are in the 1st ward (which meets at 11:30). I'm in the 4th ward which consists mostly of the Meadows, a bit of the Villages, Acacia, Desert Ceders and some Altera as well as down into Hidden Valley and so on. We also meet at the same time and place as the Spanish (3rd) Branch, they meet in just a different area of the building (a branch is just a smaller 'ward' due to the number of members not being as high, but is created due to a certain need...like those who speak spanish). The 4th Ward and 3rd Branch both meet at 8am.

(by the way Jodypag, you're probably in my ward at 8am which is actually the 4th ward...do you live in the Meadows or Acacia?)

The boundaries for Maricopa 2nd ward do include most of RED, most of The Villages, Senita and they also include Tortosa, Glennwilde, Desert Passage, Homestead, Province, and now Rancho Mirage. Our boundaries are huge, but they will be changing soon once the new building is done. We currently have over 800 members just in Maricopa 2nd ward alone. Jodypag, you must have been in 2nd ward then. What is your last name?

mdann, I hope to see you today. Introduce yourself because usually 2 new families a week move in. Are your kids going to school out here? There is a new charter school opening up on Tuesday, and since it's a new school all the kids are new, so your kids won't feel like the "new kids". The 1st day is Tuesday and meet the teacher is tomorrow, Monday. They have some openings for all grades right now. One of the founders of the school is in 2nd ward. My family is excited for the school to open. Let me know if you want info on it. Hope to see you soon!
