News: Christians Say National ID Number Is the ‘Mark of the Beast’ Several Christian evangelical groups say the national ID numbers mandated by Congress represent the Bible’s “mark of the beast” — the number 666 associated with the godless. The federal Real ID Act will standardize state drivers licenses and link them to corresponding national ID numbers by 2009, and the ID cards will be required to board an airplane or enter a federal building. But the Christian groups fear that persons assigned a national ID number will be “marked” as prophesied in the Bible’s book of Revelation. Any thoughts??

Do these same concerned people have Social Security numbers? What about a drivers license? Both have numbers that identify you...Why the big concern now? Me thinks it's just an easy bandwagon for people to jump on.

Plus, it becomes a one stop shop for Identity thieves. Real ID=Bush is watching

The mark of the beast will be one that everyone will be required to have, wrist or forhead, probably a microchip of some sort. It will take something with worldwide implications to do that. It will be present as a benefit to the world, possible for security reasons.

It’s not a glass half full (optimism) or a glass half empty (pessimism)—it’s half of a glass of water (reality). Expend your energy and mental capacity on something worthwhile!

Eric the Red's right. We already have SS#'s. We're already tagged. Some people thought Ronald Wilson Reagan was the anti-christ when he became President. Each of his three names has 6 letters. Ronald-Wilson-Reagan = 6-6-6.
