I thought for sure that our dog Buddy was destined to spend his life looking like a disheveled sewer rat.  That was before my wife found Wendy, owner of "The Pawsh Pup" in Thunderbird Farms.  We've had Buddy groomed before, but the few times he was cut short his fur just looked "hacked".  Not this time.  Wendy did a close cut that makes even Buddy look respectable.  Here's before:

and here's after:

Now, if I can find a good canine orthodontist.

Stupid should hurt!

I had my youngest pup groomed last weekend (not by Wendy). I was petting her yesterday and noticed that she has a lot of scabs on her... is that normal? I've never had a dog that needed grooming, but it just doesn't seem like she should have scabs all over. They are all very little, but there are quite a few of them.... anyone know anything?
thanks!

He's one handsome boy, DD!

Mine have never had scabs after grooming. Did they shave your pup too close?

I don't think that she was shaved at all- she has long hair and it is still long! Maybe they used clippers? Anyway, she still has lots of scabs and my other dog has been licking/biting them off. It's kind of sweet in a disgusting kind of way.... I guess I won't be going back to that groomer?!! I'm assuming that the scabbing is not normal....

DesertDweller - I actually have a ridiculously similar story... Our dog Buddy hadn't been to the groomer in MONTHS because of an open sore on his rear end. We were finally able to get the surgery done, and now that he is all healed from the stiches, we were finally able to take him to a groomer. We just went to the PetSmart in Casa Grande because we didn't know of any local groomers and had to go to Casa Grande anyway, but it is SO true what a good haircut can do! He is a little black (greying) and white shih-tzu who could also use a dentist ;-) PetSmart did a fairly good job, considering I'm sure he gave them hell when they went at him with the clippers! :-p
How are Wendy's rates?
Are there other dog groomers in town that people like as well?
