so what kind of pet(s) do you own? and what's there name?

I own a beagle that's just over 2 years old. We've had him since he was around 11 wks old. He goes by the name of Oliver. My wife and I don't have kids so we treat him like our child (I know, pathetic).

We have Frank and Bear...the chewing duo!!
Frank is a 10 month old Catahoula. We have had him since he was 6 weeks old and he's a complete momma's boy.
Bear is about 7 months old and a mix breed we adopted from PSW. He's more independent than Frank but never wants to stop giving everybody kisses.
We don't have any kids either and I baby them like crazy...which could explain the problems with them eating my house as described in my earlier post!!!

We also have 2 cats Chloe (Siamese) and Roxy.

Lu - our 8 year old Pekingese
Torrence - our 8 year old beagle
Grin - our 5 or so year old border collie mixed breed
Flagg - our 18 year old cat
Daisy - our 4 year old cat

On any given day there could be anywhere from 2-4 more rescues in the house. Usually dogs but occasionally a cat or kitten.

We do have a son that gets my TLC & devotion but I never overlook the furry kids because of the human boy!

Wow, lots of pets everywhere!

I heard that Boxers take a long time to "grow up" and start maturing, is this true?

We've thought about possibly getting either another beagle or a boxer.
My wife is just scared that if we get a puppy that it will chew our new cabinets.

I have two lovers! 2 dogs that is. One is German Shepard/ridgeback mix with maybe chow. Not sure she has an all black tongue. I was told Chow's have black tongues?? are there others that do? Her name is Roxy, the second is Daisy, she is a lab mix. A small lab, sooo cute also with a black tongue! Go figure. I rescued both of them from the pound. Daisy here in Tempe and Roxy I drove all the way to Sedona. Her face was too cute. She is just a beautiful dog!

They are both completely spoiled, especially by their sisters(my two daughters)and me owning a pettreat shop. They are very happy dogs! They are still getting used to the baby. They are watching him. lol <img src='http://www.85239.com/desktopmodules/ntforums/images/emoticons/tongue2.gif' height='20' width='20' border='0' title='Tongue' align='absmiddle'>

I like to say they are puppies at heart!! LOL My female is the best dog ever!!! She never chewed anything but her toys. She is not a digger. She was they easiest to house train! That said She was kennel trained and just recently she no longer goes in the kennel. They do have alot of energy but they settle down (usually in your lap!) she really does think she is a lap dog and cant understand why I scoot her over!
I have worked at a boxer rescue and they are great dogs but like any puppy they need training and consistency.
My neighbor has a beagle AND a boxer...thier beagle is a howler and I can hear him during the day...I dont hear a peep out of their boxer! <img src='http://www.85239.com/desktopmodules/ntforums/images/emoticons/satisfied.gif' height='20' width='20' border='0' title='Satisfied' align='absmiddle'>

I have 3 dogs all about 2 years old.
Belle is a terrier mix
Her brother Avi (named after a bad guy in some movie that I can't remember the name of) is also a terrier mix.
Then I have Tinker, she is a full size lab.

Sometimes I have my son's german shephard Harley who is also about 2 years old.

They are all really well behaved except for barking at the train and digging in the back yard.

We have two fur kids, Chase our two year old cat dog. She is DSH Black coated who is rambuctious, and sweet as can be. Chase we adopted from Dr. V, and has been a great intro to what having a two legged child would be like. Soprano is almost five. A DLH tuxedo kitty. A very mild and shy demeanor who is close to her dad, and loves to pearch on anything high, and hiss at her sister for being a pain. They sleep with us at night, and when we bought our new bedroom furniture, we had to make sure it fit all of our needs but took the girls into speical consideration. They also have two window pearches in the room to see outside, and enough toys to keep most of the animals in town happy.
And we have three strays outside that Kimberly is helping us get fixed. YEAH!

Okay, here goes (takes a deep breath):

Canine species:

Augie a 2-year old Great Dane/Shepherd/Boxer mix
Shadow, A 2-year old purebred Shepherd found wandering in the desert
Buddy, a Brussels Griffon about two years old, found wandering in the desert
Daisy, a female Basett Hound lost in the desert and rescued by Pet Social Worker

Feline species:

Big Boy - a 30 lb. Scottish Fold rescued from a feral colony
Felix, you generic, all-purpose, indoor/outdoor DLH tomcat which my wife brought home
Yoda, a gray female DLH that was found by a dog in the desert and dropped off at someone's home. It was then abandoned on the counter at Chitwoods and eventually found it's way to our house.
Amos and Andy - two Siamese/Ragdoll mix kittens about 6 months old adopted from a couple on this forum.

That was indoors. Outdoors, there is Sebastian and Sugar, two pot-bellied pigs acquired here on the forum.

We have Rollo and Heath, two large goats, plus Tootsie, a Nigerian Pigmy goat who is currently pregnant, and finally Snickers who is about three months old. We raised him from a bottle baby.

Finally, there's Weto, my rooster, accompanied by his flock of 10 hens.

Stupid should hurt!

my cow puppy is a 5.5 year old pit (3/4) and lab (1/4) mix. she is white with big black spots, hence the name. i was there when she was born and took her home at 6 weeks of age, she has been like a child to me ever since. when my 2-legger was born in oct6ober, i was a little scared that cow would be jealous of him. not a drop of it though, she treats the baby as if he were her own, and gets really annoyed when i don't get to him fast enough when he cries. if i'm busy, say cooking, and have to wash my ahnds before i get the baby, invariably, by the time i get to him i find cow puppy licking away at his face and his tears all dried up.

i also have part time custody of my mom's year old, 7 lb. shih tzu, who remarkably looks quite a bit like cow puppy, her name is lennox.

We have two pug puppies--Pookie and Squishy. Our realtor (a family friend) gave us Pookie after he sold us our house in August. They were able to sell all the males of the litter but had two little females, the runts, that didn't sell. About a week ago, he contacted us to ask us if we wanted Pookie's sister, the other runt of the family, as they didn't have enough time to give her the attention she wanted. Squishy is even smaller than Pookie but other than that, they look like twins. They are adorable together and tire each other out during the day; it feels like we've had both forever. They are our babies for now, lol. And yes they sleep with us, of course.
I wish I had the time/money to adopt more animals as I love them, and I don't think I've ever paid for an animal; my parents and I have always "rescued" them, lol.

My list isn't as long as DD's anymore. We've been weeding the herd as they pass on.
We're down to:

3 dogs:
Ruby, a 10 year old Belgium Malinois
Kali, a 2 year old Jack Russell Terror
Miss Abigail Squeakers, a 10-12 month old what could be Border Terrier (Terror too)

Birds:
Wilbur, an 18 year old Blue Crown Conure
Babs, an almost as old Cockatiel that when she dies - Wilbur will be heartbroken.

Outdoors:
Miss Fritz (aka Fritzydoodle), 9 yr old horse - adopted at 2 weeks of age from the auction. She was a wild rez baby of what we think is a combination thoroughbred/arab ancestry.
Lamb - a 5 yr old wither sheep that was originally bought to go in the freezer. He was attacked by either dogs or coyotes and lost a hind leg. We didn't have the heart to kill him after he went through so much to live after the attack. He's Fritzy's best friend. They are ALWAYS together.

Recently passed in the last year:
Mama the Cat - died New Years Day from Feline Leukemia.
Jade - my prized 5+ foot iguana, died last summer from complications of cancer. She was a character, especially when we had company that DIDN'T know about her. Imagine the look on their face when she'd come strolling through the living room to go to the window to sun.
