I drive on Warren Rd (Thunderbird Farms area off Papago Rd) on a daily basis and notice a minimum of 5 dogs (they look like pit bulls but I'm not sure) that are chained up with really heavy chains. I was trying to contact the ASPCA to have them check it out. Does anyone have a phone number to call? The dogs look really sad.

I haven't seen them. I drive that road every day too. I will certainly take a look as I go by.

Heavy chains - I am talking log chains - are used to condition pits for fighting. It builds up their physique having to drag them around. If I see that, I won't be calling the humane society, I will be calling the sheriff. People low enough to breed, raise, or train dogs for fighting are usually into other illegal things.

Thursday night the news reported on a dog that attacked his owner. The police or ASPCA commented that the owner caused this by keeping the dog(s) chained all the time. Dogs become territorial and more aggressive because they can't get away, move around.

I don't understand owners who keep their dogs chained. Get a fence, then get a dog.

Call Animal Care & Control & ask that a "Health & Welfare Check" be completed. You'll need the address or at least directions for the Officer to get out there. 520-866-7600

You can even call the sheriff I think! This is horrible to hear. There are so many dog attacks and it is caused by stupid people not the poor animals
