Alert | | My friend was walking her two dogs (on leashes)this morning when they were ferociously attacked by two loose dogs. One was a weimerainer(spelling?) and the other was a tan shepherd looking dog. They were unmercifully attacking my friends dogs!! There were two men in a truck that saw the attack and stopped to help my friend get the attacking dogs off of her dogs. Thank God they stopped to help her, as the attacking dogs would not stop, even with her kicking the stuffing out of the attacking dogs. She was screaming at them and they would not let go of her dogs. Finally- the two men were able to help her dogs, and she is at the vet now, as one of her dogs was so badly wounded that she couldn't walk. She notified the Maricopa Police, Pinal County Sherriff, and the Pinal County Animal Control. Please be careful- what if she had small children instead of 60 pound dogs? <img src='http://www.85239.com/desktopmodules/ntforums/images/emoticons/crying.gif' height='20' width='20' border='0' title='Crying' align='absmiddle'>

Alert | | Yep- enough said. Please keep your dogs, especially non-friendly ones, in the yard or on a leash. Like I said- what if there had been small children present? Good luck to the owner....enough said.....

Alert | | I've called the owners to let them know what had happened. I don't know them personally but they are mortified by this it seems. The dogs have not been located yet. Can you tell me which street this was on please.

Alert | The dogs came off of Portabello in Acacia Crossings. I just talked to my friend, she is picking Fifi up from the vet now. She has two drains in the two deepest wounds, multiple puncture wounds, but no fractures. The poor pup will be on antibiotics for two weeks, and will hopefully get the drains out in 10 days. Her other dog is injured, but did not require surgery like Fifi did. She has also contacted the owners, thanks to your post in a different subject. They were very nice and also concerned. I do not think the dogs have been located as of yet. She said they also attacked a cat? Thank you for your help- sorry I did not see your post before I had posted. The work you do is phenominal! Take care and I hope these dogs get picked up before any more innocent dogs, cats or kids get injured.

Alert | Unfriggenbelievable.....This is the second incident in a week. Please tell me exactly how AC handles these things. What a horrible ordeal! Thank God those men stopped!
When these dogs are caught...I hope they are put down and never allowed to harm anyone or anything again. I would hope the owners would willingly pay for the damage their ANIMALS caused.
I feel sorry for what your friend and her dogs experienced today. It is too much of a liability too keep an animal like that. Obviously they got out and they will again. Who will be their next victims? A dog, cat or child?
I certainly hope AC&C properly handles this one too.

Alert | The owners of the crazy dogs need to pay all of the victim's expenses, or the victim should sue. That is irresponsible, and now I am waiting until the dogs are found before I walk my dog. If the dogs aren't caught, who knows how long before they attack a child.
Why haven't they been found yet? The neighborhood isn't that big.

How are we going to know if these dogs are found or not? Besides, what's to keep them in AC? They could be miles from here by now.

Alert | | That is a good question- I have not heard if the dogs were located or not. My friend has been in contact with the owners- about the vet bills and such, they are willing to pay for the damages, and as Pet Social Worker said, are mortified. As of noonish, the dogs had not been located to my knowledge.

Alert | This exact thing happened to us this summer while walking our dog on a leash. This is happening way too much! Glad to hear her dogs will probably be ok after treatment.

Because this is the first time I have heard of roaming dogs attacking other dogs in AC. I have seen roaming dogs before, but they flee when you try to see if they have a collar or not. | | "My favorite health club is the International House of Pancakes" -- Lewis Black

Alert | These dogs were just buried by their owner. They wandered on to a farm & were shot to death by the owner of the farm.

Alert | This is a sad situation. I have heard too much of this recently. It makes me not want to walk my little dogs out around the neighborhood, and we all need the exercise. This is too much like my old neighborhood in S. Phoenix...not good. | | Nancy

Alert | | My friend said the owners were awesome and very remorseful. They evened up for the vet bills and let her know about the demise of the dogs. She had said that the pit mix had gotten a baby calf down and was shot by the rancher. The weimerainer was a victim of association. Sad day for sure, but at least it is safe to walk again. Take care all-

Alert | Well, there you have it. The owner was in tears when we spoke, so I didn't press her for details. I can not imagine losing one of my dogs by gun fire.
