Anyone missing a bunny rabbit???

He is my front yard enjoying my flowers.....

and now some fresh lettuce and water....

we are in Tortosa.....

he will take the food from your hand but is skittish when we try to pick him up.

he has a collar with a bell on it...

If he is yours you can call Ed at 848-219-3025

Please don't give it lettuce. Bad for the digestive system - causes diarrhea. Yes, carrots are a better choice as a treat item to entice it. But as you know - they like flowers and grass

Let me know if you have problems finding a home for it. We can put him in our barnyard.

You might try some posters in your neighborhood. I don't think bunnies wander as far as a dog might. The owner may not think to contact the vets either. I'll bet some children are going to miss their furry little friend.

We haven't heard from anyone yet..I did post it in the Tortosa thread..I figured he couldn't have covered that much ground....he seems to be hanging out between mine and two other houses. Is he hanging out because we fed him or do you think he belongs to someone in the neighborhood? If he is still here in the morn I'll post some fliers on the mailbox. Considering someone claims they saw a Bobcat up here last week..I don't want him wandering too long..

D.D...if we can catch him could you foster him for now?

Yeah, I think we can take him. He can hang out in the hen house until I get a hutch built. We are all gone tomorrow, but home from Thursday on. I hope you are able to get him some place secure. dogs, cats, and coyotes all like to go after rabbits.

Holy crapolla........it has got to be the same bunny...

This only makes me more determined to catch him and let D.D. give him a home.....
The poor critter's collar has worked it's way behind his left elbow/joint/foot...

He must be underweight because I WAS able to get my hand on the scruff of his neck but I felt it was too thin for me to pick him up that way.

Does anybody have any tricks up their sleeves that could work on this bunny?

If you have a cat carrier or something similar, you could try baiting it with a carrot. That means you will have to watch him go inside. I will PM you my number in case you catch the critter and I can pick him up from you on the way home tomorrow.

I read your email prior to your post...yes we will attempt it but we'll be gone most of the day....I'll let you know! The problem I see with baiting him is he is in glory just feeding off the Ruellia and Sage blooms....

Garden Glow, Is there any way you can find out if Eric the Red lives near you? I don't recall seeing any recents posts by him. But if you could find out maybe you could narrow down the little guys territory.

I've been thinking the rabbit belongs to my neighbor, but I'm not really sure. He was hanging out around their front door for a while. It's been in my yard a few times now, eating plants and such. He's been in my yard so much that a gaggle of kids came by recently asking if we knew that our rabbit was outside...

Eric...are you off Isabella Lane?

Thanks Kimberly I'll send out an email tomorrow and try to see if I can borrow that cat trap...

Considering Eric first siting was back in July..I'll bet it safe to assume the "owners" aren't looking for him..sad!

DD..if it works out are you still game?

Sure. A bunny would add a little class to the place.

I'm on Toledo, where it T's up to Isabella. I didn't see it last night but its dark by the time I get home anymore. I didn't see it this morning either, but it's been moving between a few houses. It's been getting plenty of food and water though. We've kinda liked having the rabbit out front...

Eric...were you walking two little dogs today?
I was the lady with the yellow bandana on her head who waved at you?

I'm at the end of Vemto...I did see a child from the neighborhood and asked him if he knew who it belonged to..and he pointed to Toledo Street....hmmmmmmm! Safe to assume they're not looking for him!!!!
I guess he's going to live with DD on his farm...lucky duck...I mean bunny!

I emailed Kims friend and am awaiting a response...would you be willing to put a "trap"by your house also..it would help with the odds of us catching him...seems he's traveling from your street to the end of mine...unfortunately he likes to lay under the car that's been parked in the street forever!
