My girl Anya had her 1st heat just before the mobile surgeon came to town, so she didn't get spayed yet. It's been at least 2 weeks since her heat, more like 3. My question is, is she pregnable right now?
I've never had to be concerned before, but a new roommates unaltered male is really interested in her.... I mean REALLY INTERESTED! It's only been a few hours, and I know it may all pass in a day or so, but .... In the meantime we can't monitor them constantly. Can she get pregnant AFTER her heat?

Yes, a dog is receptive in the 21 days following the obvious signs (bleeding) of being in heat. A pregnant dog can be spayed early into the pregnancy. The best thing you can do is get her fixed ASAP.

Yes he can and if you do not want little puppys running around you may want to spay her asap or seperate them until then.

Thanks, She's not interested, but must be in the end of here heat, because he is relentless! I hope he likes the yard, that's his home for a few more days.

nursiegurl & mommy - glad you chimed in. I wasn't really sure what the answer was, so suggested pkat post here because I knew you'd both know the answer. Good info. to have for the future. Thanks!
