The "gangsta" sub-culture that values having a pit bull on a chain, calling their women whores, and endorsing vandalism and drug abuse is what's responsible for this kind of crap. While blacks may be in the forefront of what's visible, white executives at Viacom and other entertainment are responsible for constructing and promoting it. Those records are being bought by white kids.

You're right. Animal cruelty and violence has nothing to do with race. It has to do with ignorance. But you do have to admit that there is a particular group of "artists" who promote this pathetic lifestyle. Exactly. That's exactly what I'm saying. My point is that I will have taught him to make quality choices based on respecting others. I will have taught him that violence is not something to be admired. When I say those records will never be allowed in my home, I am not suggesting that he will never hear the music elsewhere. I'm simply stating that that music will not be permitted in our home because it completely goes against our values. It isn't likely he will want to waste money on that type of music. If for some reason he does, he'll have to wait until he lives elsewhere. | |
