Alert | Great idea! Beautiful site, too!
My question is the same as Pkat's. I'm not an "official rescue," but I do foster independently from time to time. I don't make money from it — quite the opposite! — but I'm not a registered non-profit, either. Could I still use the site to list my fosters, when I have them? Or perhaps prevail upon Tails of Hope to do a courtesy listing?
Kimberly, this is awesome! If it hasn't been said recently, thank you for all you do for the lost, unwanted and abandoned pets of Maricopa! | | I used to be Chelle.

Alert | | Yes, you may register as an individual, but you may not make any profit from the adoption fee. All organizations will be approved by the administrators and then you will receive information regarding the requirements for posting and the procedure for doing so.

Alert | Kimberly - You are amazing. Thank you for all you do for the stray, homeless and abandoned animals in Maricopa. I wish I could foster more animals, but Sherman and Patton would have none of it - Sherman will not tolerate another dog - he barely tolerated Patton at first, and Patton only tolerates the cats because they were in the house first! I can only help through donations, or volunteering. Please- you should have a PayPal account, so we can donate to your cause.

Alert | Kim,
I have a suggestion. There are alot of families that would love to adopt a pet but don't have the money for it. Maybe you can get some donations to help these families. I have a sister that is moving out here in a few days and wants 2 kittens but from moving can not afford anything to adopt. | | A diamond with a flaw is worth more than a pebble without imperfections.

First let me say that I'm not trying to be mean. However, if someone can not afford to adopt a pet then how are they going to afford all the other things that go with a pet. It's said the the average pet costs $1000 a year to maintain. I'm sure that's pretty accurate with shots, nuter/spaying, food, toys, litter boxes, litter, etc. I'm also certain that the dollar figure goes up exponentially for dogs that chew!
We didn't have much money when we were young, but animals were always in our home and still are. It someone really wants a pet they will sacrifice and find a way. Shoot don't go to the movies and have refreshments twice and there's one adoption paid right there!
Good luck with the site Kimberly!

Alert | Hi All - Thanks so much for the feedback. I rec'd some feedback from some rescue organizations as well & made some slight changes. I'm hesitant to put a link for donations. I'm not a 501c3 Rescue, so I don't want it ever considered that myself and my family do this for the money - quite the opposite in fact. We put out much more than we take in from adoption fees.
pstone - email me your sisters info - kimberly@houndathome.com so I can keep it on file for the next person who calls me about taking in stray kittens. my only concern is - can she pay to have them spayed &/or neutered. That is a must.
