 Alert | | Please help! I live in DC and we have ticks in and out of the home as well on our dog. Our neighbor has them too and says it's the season! Has anyone heard this? Also how do I get rid of them. We treated around our yard and house with Home Defense and Granuals as well as treated the dog, however I don't think we ever really got rid of them. This morning I found what looked like a green bean on the floor. Yuck!! After researching I found out it was an engorged tick. That made me sick! I have a 1 year old who crawls all over and I'm afraid to put any kind of powder treatment on carpets. HELP!!! | | | |

Alert | Yep - call an exterminator and specify that you have a tick problem inside and out. Then also take the dog to a groomer for tick removal if you aren't sure that you can get them all yourself.
Your 1 year old will just have to stay up off the carpet - really - if you are worried about your child getting in contact with the chemicals to kill the ticks (which is of course a valid concern), you should be just as concerned about that child crawling around with ticks! Either way, the child needs to be off of the carpet till the ticks are gone. | | | |

Alert | Call a pest control company & treat your dog ASAP w/ a topical drop such as Frontline. Don't buy the cheap stuff. In this case, you get what you pay for.
