Alert | Here's one of the recipes I used a lot
Bow Wow Brownies
1/2 cup warm water 1/2 cup powdered milk 2 jars meat or chicken babyfood 1/2 cup wheat germ 1 cup corn meal 1 cup wheat flour
oven 350 disolve milk in water, mix in rest of ingrediants one at a time. When well blended spray Pam on a cookie sheet and spread the mix to desired thickness as far as it will spread. Bake 10-15 minutes depending on thickness. Cut into desired shape while hot from the oven. (I spread mine thin and cut them small, I'd give them several small ones rather than one large) | | | |

Alert | I've used this one in the past...the dogs LOVE them. They contain no eggs but...
Liver brownie recipe
I have gotten requests for the liver brownie recipe. You might want to plan on making several batches at once, even your first time and freezing to justify the mess you make of your equipment. I made about 4 lbs of liver into brownies last night. The wonderful thing about liver brownies is that you can't screw them up, the target audience will think they are wonderful no matter how you vary the proportions or cooking time. These are great training treats or ring bait as they do not get disgusting in a pocket as fast as straight liver.
The basic recipe:
1 lb raw beef liver 1 cup whole wheat flour 1 cup corn meal 1 T. garlic powder
Either dump everything in a food processor and blend to a sticky dough OR cut the liver into 2-3 oz. chunks and puree a few at a time in a blender. Add the liver to the dry ingredients and mix into a sticky mess.
One recipe says use a cookie sheet, line with aluminum foil and oil. 20 Minutes at 350 or until all pink is gone. I used to cook them in a baking pan so the dough would be maybe 3/4-1 inch thick.
I now cook them in the microwave on paper plates. Just glob the dough onto a plate and smooth out a similar thickness. Try and mash down to elimnate air bubbles. I cook a paper plates worth about 7 minutes ( in my small old oven) take them out, cut off the edges that are done and about the consistence of a heavy moist quick bread. I put the plate back in to finish up cooking the center. They will stick a bit.
Cut in cubes to whatever size you like. Freeze well or hold in fridge probably a week.
You can use chicken liver. I have also used ground turkey with some added water. These were more crumbly but did not require pureeing liver. I had one friend who threw out her blender after using liver, it does look a bit like murder in the kitchen.
I have also made cookies from the same basic dough but rolled balls in wheatgerm and then flattened. kind of like peanut butter cookies. These stick so you need to oil pans, the brownie form is easier.
