looking for an opinion, kim. maximus II is estimated at 4 months old. what are the drawbacks to waiting until MASH's next visit to neuter him? other than the fact that i'll have a 1 month old baby then!

No drawbacks, just don't let him get at any chicks before then.

I may have another option for you before Nov 1st though. I'll keep you in the loop as I get more details.

II looks a lot like I, says pkat. he's about 4 months, white with kinda tan spots. actually looks a lot like cow puppy in brown. they are so cute together. i knew we would find the right dog for the house eventually. i just wish it weren't a 4 month old puppy 6 weeks before nick is due. but everything else about him is such a pwerfect fit!

demonica - totally off topic, but have you talked to your vet & OB about things to do to prepare the dogs for the new baby? If not, I can email you some tips. We had a bit of a problem w/ our Aussie (in avatar) being SUPER protective of Nate when we brought him home from the hosp. She and our beagle would get into bloody brawls when Tori would go anywhere near the baby. It was scary.

actually, i would love any info you have. there was a 4 month old baby at the knitting group here on saturday, and cow would not let max anywhere near him while i was holding him. of course, that was before cow decided max was ok. i am hoping that starlight wolf brings the baby back this saturday, so i can see if her attitude has changed. my friend has a 17 month old that is the perfect dog tester. she has grown up around pit bulls her entire life and has absolutely no fear of dogs whatsoever. cow and max are great together with her, with the exception of a little ear chewing, but she didn't even mind that too much, LOL. any help i can get on this is greatly appreciated though!

ohhh no did you say pit bull....

(I know this might make some pissy, but I had a bad experience with a couple of pits. I wouldn't trust them around kids, too scarey for me. I know everyone says it is how they are raised and I truely believe it is in their nature to attack and fight, even if they are the sweetest, gentlest dog in the world. That's what I had been told and believed until I saw for my own the way they can turn)

lvmadonna-
i think we need to agree to disagree on this one. if you are interested in my views on pit bulls, see the ridiculous pit bull thread on here. i like you, i appreciate that you expressed your opinion in a polite way. i hope i have been able to do the same about a topic i feel so strongly about.
