Sounds like you might have a taker!
Dogs can be altered as soon as 8 weeks old. Rescue groups sometimes do it even earlier than that. | | | |

It is awful to spay/neuter your pet that early. If that is the only option then that is different, but no decent vet will spay/neuter that early. | | | |

Alert | | As far as spaying / neutering early, I tend to agree, that it's not always a good idea, but in rescue situations, the benefits outweigh the risks. I've spoken to many many many vets about early spays & neuters and all typically say the same thing. Would they want their pet altered as early as 8 weeks old - no, but will they do it to help stop the tens of thousands of euthanized pets (in our county alone) annually and help stop the pet overpopulation problem, then yes, they will alter your pet early. | | | |
