I found a small dog in the Maricopa Meadows area today. The dog is mostly white with a bit of brown. She was wearing a black collar---but no tag. When I saw the dog, I pulled over to check and see if she had a tag--she promptly jumped into my car and sat politely on my lap. I have 2 dogs and 2 cats, so I need to find this dog's owner or a foster/adoptive home ASAP. Right now she is in a large kennel away from my other dogs, but tormenting my cats. I haven't had a chance to get her checked for a microchip. I have a young daughter, so driving into town with a dog on my lap and jumping around, along with trying to maneuver between a baby and a dog is very difficult. Any suggestions, options, help, etc. would be appreciated.

That was very kind of you to stop. Maybe Kimberly will jump on here and then she can scan the dog for a chip.

She would say to call AC&C to see if it has been reported missing and call the two local vets as well. Maybe someone is looking for her.

Can anyone foster this little girl? I'm at max capacity w/ strays right now but would hate for her to go to AC&C. I'll scan her later today to see if she has a chip.

I hope this turns out well.

Just doing it one day at a time. Change is good and it should be looked upon as an improvment! not a problem.

I'm not sure what kind of dog she is...I'm not the best with identifying dog breeds. Maybe part Chihuahua. She's probably about 15 or 20 lbs. Sits easily on a lap. I'm not sure how she is with other dogs. My dog HATES other dogs, so I won't let them near each other. Not sure about kids either. I have a 10 month old, which she seemed ok with. But I haven't let her get too close since my 10 month old is not gentle with dogs.

She seems like a very sweet dog. Super friendly and just wanted to sit on my lap and kiss me. She obviously liked the car and is very comfortable with people. Animal countrol isn't coming until tomorrow, so any help is appreciated.

AC&C just came and picked her up. She is a Jack Russesl Terrier and is pregnant! I feel very bad that AC&C has her now, but I am going to follow up in 4 days and see how she's doing. The compalint # is 26211 if anybody is interested in doing followup or has anymore ideas or suggestions.

AC&C just called me back and she is microchipped. They're going to try and contact the owner and I'm still going to follow up and see that her owner is found or she gets a home.

NICE WORK RITA!
Wish I could've gotten there sooner to scan her & avoid a trip to AC&C for the pooch.
Glad it all worked out though.
