If you're looking for a deal, you won't find it at the local vet offices. Your best bet is MASH, a mobile spay/neuter clinic that makes periodic stops here. The next date is 7/17, it's booked but frequently people don't keep their appts. Otherwise there are spay/neuter clinics throughout the valley that have great rates- here's the info for the newest one in Chandler. It's in the Fry's center at Alma School and Germann 480-814-1008

Do you have contact info for MASH? Is there a way to get on a waiting list for the cancelled appointments? How much does the spaying cost?

The Spay/Neuter Clinic in Tempe is really affordable as well. Its on Priest and Southern. I took my 3 dogs there to get fixed as well as we get shots done there. They don't charge exam fees and the prices are really cheap.

The MASH info is:

www.mashsite.com

prices vary depending on if it's a cat or a dog and the weight.
Cats are $45
Dogs are $65 - $90 up to 70 pounds, $1 extra for every pound over 70 pds

No it is not the one you see on the way to Casa Grande, that is something else. Not the same thing.

The best deal in town is the free spay neuter thru Maricopa County's big fix program. Since we live in Pinal county you'll have to borrow a friends mailing address though.

http://www.maricopa.gov/dotnetnuke/portals/0/pdf/voucherapplicationfinal.pdf

They send you a voucher with a list of about 25 vets. The tempe spay neuter clinic on Southern is one of them (and they are very nice- we've used them several times). Schedule an appointment at your convenience and use the voucher to pay.. and its free. Cant beat that!

Visited the MASH unit with two dogs on Thursday at Fair Grounds.  These guys are very professional and extremely accommodating.

Two large dogs for 260 total.  In at 730 out at 1215.  Great experience!  Also, rabies shots included in total, as was pain med and lamp shade for male.

Love my vet in the Copa but price was around 850.

Some people will do anything to get elected!

Glad to hear about your good experiance with MASH. I went ahead and scheduled an appointment for when they come to Maricopa in October. Its nice I can get everything done for my puppy for one low price and not even have to leave the town.

Actually, 'The Big Fix' program in Maricopa County will give vouchers to Pinal county residents. I applied for two and received both in about 6 weeks. When you take your pet to redeem them, they will ask for ID (address and name have to match what is on voucher).
